Request reason: It turns out I am unable to vote in the Wikimedia Foundation elections since some local projects have blocked me because I am using a public IP range. This has forced me to create an account even though I did not really want an account. The blocks on my account are completely unnecessary because the IP ranges are already blocked. I have no interest in editing pages on those local projects where people are judged by their edit count. However, they should not be allowed to prevent me from being able to vote in any election that is not part of their local project. Especially when there are candidates who recognize the importance of preventing bias. GroeneVinger (talk) 12:45, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason: You are not blocked here on the meta-wiki. — xaosflux Talk 20:54, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

You are not blocked at Metawiki. You should request unblock at en:User talk:GroeneVinger using the same unblock template if you want enwiki sysops to look into your block. --Johannnes89 (talk) 17:55, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't know on how many projects I am blocked. I was also automatically blocked on the Dutch wikipedia when I signed up for an account and had to ask for excemptions. Technically I am blocked here though. Cause the voting is on Wikimedia and I don't have access to it. GroeneVinger (talk) 18:03, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Hello, to follow up on the above, as you are not blocked here on the meta-wiki, there is nothing that our admins can do to unblock you. I'm assuming you are talking about the Board of Trustees election? If so, you do not appear to meet the Wikimedia Foundation elections/2022/Voter eligibility guidelines regardless of block status, with 165 global edits you fall short of the and have made at least 300 edits before 5 July 2022 across Wikimedia wikis eligibility requirement. If you think you do meet the requirements, but are still being prevented from voting - please contact board-elections@lists.wikimedia.org for assistance. — xaosflux Talk 20:54, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
