Is this going on?

Is this partnership taking place? What exactly is being done in collaboration with the philatelic museum? Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 15:34, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

  • Helo Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants)the partnership is still on going, basically our collaborations with this organizations is based on release of content either photos or information which may be of benefit to our wikipedia page. In-fact we where granted the permission to photo shoot whatever we might think can be of interest to us,therefore our main target was to make use of the photos because the museum is very rich with Botswana content. From Wikimania 2013 i had a discussion with one of the Linguist who works with Botswana National Museum she was also interested to work with us in writing articles however i also had a meeting with one of the directors of communication at Botswana National Archives before Wikimania 2013 and he was also happy to work with us.The is a lot to be shared sooner about Setswana Wikipedia and hope to keep you updated.Oarabile Mudongo (talk) 06:36, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
Okay, sounds good. Where can one find the content that was released so far? Is there a category on Commons? Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 17:25, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Wikimedia LGBT

  Wikimedia LGBT+
Wikimedia LGBT+ is a proposed thematic organization that seeks to promote the development of content on Wikimedia projects which is of interest to LGBT+ communities. Proposed activities include outreach at LGBT events, Wikimania and other Wikimedia events, an international campaign called Wiki Loves Pride, and work on safe space policies, among other collaborations and interwiki projects. Active Wikimedians are welcome to join this cause! Please consider adding your name as a participant/supporter. Current tasks include translating pages, building a strong framework here at Meta, and achieving user group status (with the eventual goal of becoming a thematic organization). Your feedback is welcome on the discussion page.

Looking for Wikimedia volunteers in Botswana

Hi

I'm a long time Wikimedia UK volunteer, I started a project called Monmouthpedia and was Wikimedian in Residence for the Natural History Museum and Science Museum in London, I also helped organise Wikimania last year. I’m currently applying for a WMF PEG grant to be Wikimedian in Residence at UNESCO.

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:PEG/MrjohnCummings/UNESCO_Wikimedian_in_Residence

I’m looking for skilled volunteers who would be interested in working with UNESCO staff and it’s partner organisations based in Botswana. This would include running training sessions and mentoring new users from these organisations who will often be experts in their field. Please message me on my Wikipedia talk page

Thanks

Gaborone 3-phase study on Wikipedia as an mHealth tool

Hi, my name is Afton Chavez and I'm a US medical student working in Botswana with the Botswana-UPenn Health Informatics Team on a Wikipedia Project. I have already touched based with Wikimedia Botswana via Facebook, but I wanted to post on here as well. You can see details about our project on this grant application I just created, Botswana Wikipedia 3-phase study and HIV/AIDS article evaluation workshop. If you're around and interested in joining let me know! Perhaps we could add this to the announcements page as well. Thanks! Abchave1 (talk) 15:25, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
