Special:AbuseFilter/240 false positive

Hello. It's seems we have a false positive in french wikipedia [1] : CBD in reference. Supertoff (talk) 19:42, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Supertoff Thanks for the report, I've tweaked the filter to fix that issue. GeneralNotability (talk) 01:55, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Special:AbuseFilter/240 false positive (2)

Hello. We have a new false positive in french wikipedia [2] (CBD in reference) : https://www.cbd.int/doc/lifeweb/Ecuador/images/ClimateChangeReport.pdf. Supertoff (talk) 04:46, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

@Supertoff: Thanks for the report. I have excluded frwiki from that filter. [User only actually needed two edit to be free of the filter, howevr their first and only act was to attempt to add that url <shrug>]  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:28, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Special:AbuseFilter/214 false positive

Hello. It seems we have a false positive on fr.wikipedia : [3]. I didn't find where is the problem. Supertoff (talk) 07:44, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

And one more here : [4]. Supertoff (talk) 18:27, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
The phrase that's causing the hit is "je participe à de nombreux forums du libre". Jon Kolbert, looks like this filter is mostly your work, and I'm not sure what that particular bit of the filter is supposed to catch - thoughts? (if you don't see it, I can message you the specific bit that's tripping the filter) GeneralNotability (talk) 00:01, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
Done @Supertoff: This filter is predominantly aimed at a certain English-speaking xwiki LTA, so easiest to have excluded frwiki from it.  — billinghurst sDrewth 02:11, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks. Supertoff (talk) 08:12, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
@GeneralNotability: : I just see why I didn't find the problem... I forgot to watch norm before the string which remove whitespaces. Thanks again. Supertoff (talk) 08:29, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Special:AbuseFilter/171

Hello again. This filter has recently detected modifications on fr.WP on the article fr:Ali Mansour (réalisateur) : [5]. Is this article one goal of this filter ? An another question : isn't it too much to block a date (see line 39) for so many users ? Supertoff (talk) 15:38, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

@علاء: this is your filter. Can we look at how we can use this better? wiki_name, or wiki_language, etc. @Supertoff: I hve rem'd out line 39 at this time. [Personally I am not across the filter or the problem user.]  — billinghurst sDrewth 16:23, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks billinghurst. Hello Supertoff, about this LTA, please see #Ali_Mansour (on frwiki: fr:Wikipédia:Faux-nez/Ali mansour. I review daily the log of this filter, to monitor and evaluate its work, as well as to follow up false positives (like what you mentioned above). Usually, I remove any line from the filter that is no longer in use by the LTA. I'll try to look for better option in relation to above case, but I think that few false positives is acceptable compared to the desired benefit (I said this, as I review all hits of this filter). About "wiki_name, or wiki_language", frwiki, one of the most wikis affected by LTAs mentioned on this filter. Best --Alaa :)..! 18:43, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

@علاء: my question was just about fr:Ali Mansour (réalisateur). We allready have a local filter (309) about LTAs (and others things) : frwiki is very affected by LTAs, I agree. I will light local filter except if light is done here. Let me know (to answer to the users who are filtered). Supertoff (talk) 18:58, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
Supertoff I updated the filter now, hope will not stop any edits like you mentioned above. Best --Alaa :)..! 19:06, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
@علاء: thank you Supertoff (talk) 19:55, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
@علاء: with wiki_name, I was more thinking that there could be some phrases that could be wrapped and excluded based on frWP, yet still apply for the other places, I do a bit of that in Special:Abusefilter/169. While we have global AF, we do need to let the wikis primarily run their show and not impede their users.  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:43, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Special:AbuseFilter/289 false positive on bgwiki

bg:Special:AbuseLog/155780 seems a false positive. As much as I try, it's hard for me to imagine how this can be even remotely a "telephone support spam". The filter isn't public, so I can't help with debugging. Could we please do something about it?
— Luchesar • T/C 08:18, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

@Iliev: Yes. thanks for your note, already fixed. I put a note to [[Stewards' noticeboard] that I had made an error and resolved it, it was broader than bgWP.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:03, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
@Billinghurst I think this filter has also been false-positive in Bengali Wikipedia at https://w.wiki/3oFz (7 August 11:35-11:53 UTC) MdsShakil (talk) 18:57, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Most likely, it was all global wikis, so if it was global-289 it is the filter. All fell into the same timetable, and fell into the same fix.  — billinghurst sDrewth 02:07, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
