Talk:CentralNotice/FAQ

thanks a lot Ciell for starting that !
Some feedback I can think of
- What’s the process to follow to request a Central Notice or sitenotice? ----> Separate that in two sections. One for process to CN and one for process to SN
- For the CN, perhaps provide a link to one such place where people can request a CN (dunno, English Wikipedia perhaps ?). It can help figure out next steps
- In Which information will I need to provide? I think the language should be simplified (more direct straightforward short sentences) to make translation easier. That paragraph is a bit too complex imho
- What is a “diet? ---> I think this paragraph needs to be expanded to explain more the intricacies of the diet system...
- Maybe add a paragraph about timeline (how much ahead should a request be made; what could be expected in term of delays)
- and when finalized... translation tags :)
- Thank you Anthere! These are really useful remarks, and yes: I will definitely request translation and start linking the page where applicable, once people had a chance to review. Ciell (talk) 11:40, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- Language: I am not sure how I can make this section easier, and am open to suggestions.
- What is a diet: I am not sure how going deeper into all the different options would help in the context of this page. Imho this should really be left to the CN banner admin, because this depends very much on circumstantial elements, plus al the different options are not used independent of each other but combined in different ways. CN admins do an educated guess on how a diet (if used) helps the intention of the banner in the best way, which is why we need to know the purpose of the requested campaign. It's a complicated puzzle.
- Timeline: section added!
- Thanks again! Ciell (talk) 12:08, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Review of tax compaigns
edit@JBrungs (WMF): Dear Julia, what is the rationale for this change? Why is the timeline so long? Please do keep in mind that not all organizations have employees, many rely completely on volunteer labour. The process is already quite onerous. What needs to be reviewed anyway? What is the reasoning? Thank you!--Jetam2 (talk) 14:07, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi,
- Thank you for your questions. All proposed tax campaigns need legal approval from WMF's side and due to the capacities on our side we need to ensure that there is enough time for WMF to evaluate the tax campaign proposal before it would start. Best, JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 04:58, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
- @JBrungs (WMF): Thank you for answering (but not really) one part of the question. What needs to be evaluated and why? I really feel that is hampering rather than helping anyone.--Jetam2 (talk) 08:38, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
