Better names for the 4 metric categories?
editI am not particularly happy with "new users" as a name for the first category even if it's factually accurate, other ideas are welcome. DarTar (talk) 00:31, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
Active editors
editDarTar: I can't understand if the historic definition of active users as "registered users completing 5+ edits monthly in a project's main namespace" (as described here or at the stats'page) is ever going to change to include non ns-0 edits. --Elitre (talk) 16:36, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
- Elitre, we're not quite there yet. We worked on the first set of metrics ("new users"). Active editors (along with other "community" metrics) is next on our plate and we haven't run yet any detailed analysis of the parameters, except the one that you saw on that page. I anticipate that the final parameter recommendation for that metric may not be 100% equivalent to the current one, as we want to compute it from the database and potentially fix some of the issues/artifacts caused by the generation of historical data from the dumps. Before that happens, there will be room for discussing the pros and cons of the new approach. DarTar (talk) 14:09, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you :) --Elitre (talk) 14:21, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
Translation of Research:Metrics standardization
editHi! I was wondering if there is a timeline for marking these pages translation? Thanks! --EGalvez (WMF) (talk) 22:31, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- @EGalvez (WMF): we discussed creating a succint definition of each metric to be displayed/embedded in the dashboards generated by the Vital Signs project. Before starting with translations, IMO we should figure out how to support i18n/l10n in that project. --Dario (WMF) (talk) 03:43, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
Moving assumptions as subpages
edit@Halfak (WMF): I created a bunch of subpages to simplify transclusion in the relevant metric definition pages (example). --Dario (WMF) (talk)
Alignment with other standards
editHas anyone tried to figure out how this align with other standards? [1] — Jeblad 00:11, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
