  1. Low activity doesn't seem a good reason for axing a project. Especially not a Wikinews project, because when a news project is wanted, it's wanted now, not x months from now following a Wikipedia-like incubation process. --Pi zero (talk) 13:11, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Pi zero Persian Wikinews now is turned into an Iranian government news agency. That's my main reason to close the project. Most of articles don't follow NPOV. Mjbmr (discussioncontribs) 07:38, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mjbmr: I can see how that might become a problem, given the political context of the language. It's not clear to me that's a reason for closure, either; I've heard rumors of somewhat similar problems in other, larger Wikinewses. You say most articles don't follow NPOV? Implying that some do?

I point out that is not the reason for closure listed at the top of the proposal. --Pi zero (talk) 11:11, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

    • Low activity should be a good reason for axing Wikinews projects. A Wikipedia or other project can still be used without it being updated, but a Wikinews requires activity to be usable for the main use of a news source: the actuality. The use of finding historical events is secondary and it's use is possible in the Incubator. The news source is no longer relevant. Also, news projects do work in the Incubator, and new stories can be made there. If the wiki becomes relevant again due to activity, it can be put back to it's own subdomain. We aren't living in the early-to-mid twentieth century, with each household loyally subscribing to one newspaper and getting all their news from there, thus calling for each newspaper to provide one-stop shopping for the news consumer. Nor is it realistic to suppose that moving a resource around on the internet doesn't discourage its use. --Pi zero (talk) 10:31, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sir, the same person which is offering this proposal, actually hide Newsroom from ordinary visitors, makes new news in smaller boxes, put useless, less attractive news in the main page, &&& stuff like that, all of these actions have effects on newcomers because they can not understand how Wikinews is working when you hide Newsroom from main page, or put old useless news in Main page or make new news less appearing, with all of these changes I was disagree but the same person which is giving this proposal now have done all these without single negotiations with others, I think this situation needs twice thinking, Best Regards, --KhabarNegar 03:15, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose Inactivity in itself is no longer a valid reason while the project has already a significant amount of articles.--Doostdar (talk) 08:08, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  4. Oppose Mainly per above, also should note the Zhuang Wikipedia was inactive in the past about 3 years (I assume), but finally with the help of User:唐吉訶德的侍從 and some IP editors it has re-actived successful, so why this project cannot have the same kiseki? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 23:44, 13 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Oppose per above. The examples given are all valid.--176.104.110.11 14:00, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  6. Oppose this wiki is working and the Persian Wiki people need this site.--Qian.Nivan (talk) 18:57, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Very Important

Today User:Mjbmr just started acting wrong in the mentioned project Fa.Wikinews, hurry stewards intervention is needed. (Copy pasting other users texts and signatures, and banning users, help is needed.) --KhabarNegar 07:42, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mjbmr, what's your side of this story? --Pi zero (talk) 11:13, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Wikis are collaborative projects. This means a user (even if he is admin) is not allowed to have a closure proposal before achieving the consensus among the local wiki community, here Persian Wikinews community. Both users Mjbmr and KhabarNegar are admins in Persian Wikinews. Mjbmr is triggering a war by banning the other admin. It's far from a collaborative community. The next thing to mention is that I can not come along with this conclusion: " Most of articles don't follow NPOV." I think it's just a personal belief not a conclusion after Persian Wikinews consensus. --Doostdar (talk) 07:57, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
