Page Names

I think it would be a good idea adding the language to the page name. For example, catalan version of Multilinguism is ca/Multilingüisme. What do you think? Peleguer 04:41, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Peleguer probably meant Multilingualism, above. That is the correct page name in English. Versions of that page in other languages should use the English name with a lowercase language code appended (not prefixed) like this: Multilingualism/ca. It is impractical for people to collaborate without a common language; the common language on Meta is English. --Rogerhc (talk) 22:55, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

Interlanguage links policy

Is there a policy on interlanguage links that applies to Wikipedias in all languages? This page quotes w:en:Help:Interlanguage links as a policy for Wikipedia; does it mean that it applies in Wikipedias in other languages?

I am involved in an argument about it on w:en:Talk:Taw. I removed an interlanguage link from an article on the German Wikipedia, and a user from that Wikipedia contested it, saying that the English page doesn't apply on the German Wikipedia.

I think that the w:en:Help:Interlanguage links makes sense and should be policy everywhere. Does anyone have other thoughts? --Amir E. Aharoni 19:32, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

I changed the reference to "for the English Wikipedia see w:Wikipedia:Interlanguage links", although uniformity of policy would be useful.--Patrick (talk) 00:18, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Do you have an idea where should i bring it up if i want to propose it as a policy for all languages?

I am not operating an interwiki bot, but i am doing a big project to fix interwikis in the Hebrew Wikipedia, mostly manually. I am encountering a lot of weird cases. --Amir E. Aharoni 20:21, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Proposal to rename

The name of this page is very confusing.

In the English Wikipedia "Interlanguage links" refers to links between languages that appear at the sidebar, and are colloquially called "interwiki". This page here discusses translations of articles in meta to other languages - a completely different thing.

I propose to rename this page to "Interlanguage links in Meta-Wiki" or something similar.

My plan is that the page called "Meta:Interlanguage links" will become a hub for discussions about synchronizing interlanguage links between Wikipedia articles. --Amir E. Aharoni 10:29, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
