I am placing this request out of respect for the Meta community and its policies. As a steward, I will likely be applying blocks and unblocks and may need to take other actions that would normally be the purview of a sysop on Meta. I understand that Meta has a close relationship with wikimedia stewards, but I want to make sure that I am respecting the policies and customs of the Meta community. If the community is fine with my filling my steward responsibilities without being a local sysop, that is great and I would withdraw the request. If the community prefers to have stewards also be local sysops, that is the reason for this request. As I plan on monitoring Meta more closely than I have in the past, I would chip in to support as best I could as a local sysop; if the request is denied, I will endeavor to refrain from acting as a local sysop outside of steward-related functions. I don't know how anyone could trust you in a position of power... I mean, Support. :) Even if you don't help out at a regular basis, the need for having Stewards have the ability to do stuff here (since it will be their home wiki of sorts) is important.
