Maithili Wikimedians Sampaadan Saptaah

Wikimedians Sampaadan Saptaah is an online Edit-a-thon competition organized by Maithili Wikimedians in Maithili Wikipedia on the occasion of Maithili Wikimedians User Group 2^nd Birthday. The competition is organized to create articles about different localities and to gather the participation of all wikipedians of Maithili Wikipedia. The competition was begins on 8 February, 2018 and finished on 20 February, 2018.

Mother Language Edit-a-thon

Mother Language Edit-a-thon is an online Edit-a-thon competition organized on Maithili Wikipedia on the occasion of International Mother Language Day 2018. The competition was organized from February 21, 2018 to February 23, 2018.

Women Edit-a-thon 2018

Wiki Women Edit-a-thon is an online Edit-a-thon competition organized on Maithili Wikipedia on the occasion of International Women's Day 2018. The competition was organized from March 8, 2018 to March 22, 2018. The main aim of the competition is to create articles about notable women on Maithili Wikipedia as well as to address the content gaps. Maithili Wikimedians is organizing Women Edit-a-thon annually since 2015 to create locally relevant and high-quality content about notable Women's in Maithili Wikipedia.

Maithili Wikipedia Awareness Campaign

To aware about the Maithili Wikipedia and Maithili Wikimedians User Group, We have organized an events at Rajbiraj Model College. The event was actually delayed due to the student examinations. In fact, 40 students make their participation at the event.

Wiki Loves Earth 2018 in Nepal

Wiki Loves Earth 2018 in Nepal is an international photographic competition to promote natural heritage sites around the World through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons). Maithili Wikimedians in Wikimedia Commons organized a month long international photographic competition to promote the natural heritage sites of Nepal. The photographic competition is begins on 1 May, 2018 and ended on 31 May, 2018. Maithili Wikimedians organized this events for the third time.

Wiki Loves Earth 2018 in Nepal Outreach Events

Wiki Loves Earth is an international photographic competition to promote natural heritage sites around the World through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons). To promote the natural heritage sites of Nepal, Maithili Wikimedians decided to organize the series of photo walk with the photographers over the plain and valley.

Promotion of Maithili Wikipedia

Promotion of Maithili Wikipedia is an awareness campaign to promote Maithili Wikipedia to the students, writers and peoples of different backgrounds of Rajbiraj. The main aim of the campaign is to engage and make new readers of Maithili Wikipedia. The campaign started in May 2018 and ended in October 2018.

Wiki Meetups

We have successfully organized the Meetups regarding Maithili Wikipedia and this promotional campaign. We meet with different students and peoples of Rajbiraj. We also managed to meet with a group of writers, journalist and socially aware people.

Maithili Wikipedia 4th Anniversary

Maithili Wikipedia went live four year ago, on 7 November 2014. To celebrate the event, Maithili Wikimedians has organized an anniversary celebration event at Patrakar Mahasangh, Rajbiraj. This time event consisted of about 60 individuals in which there are local Maithili Wikpedians of Rajbiraj, Maithili linguists, Journalists. They joined each other and made the event a huge success with the cake party.

Wikicamp Nepal 2018

Wikicamp Nepal 2018 (WCN) is a three day event for experienced and new Wikipedians of Nepal. The main objective of the event is to increase the Wikimedia offline activities in Nepal, develop skills of the new Wikipedians and bring together experienced and newbie Wikipedians. This brought together Wikipedians from Nepali, Maithili, Doteli, Newari (Nepal Bhasha), Bhojpuri, Sanskrit and Santali Community as well as 2 emerging Incubator communities - Awadhi and Marwari. This is first event of its kind being held in Nepal and is intended to become an annual national flagship event for Wikipedia/Wikimedia in the country.

Maithili Wikipedia Meetup- Janakpur

his is the first official Wikimeetup in Janakpur, Province no. 2, Nepal. This meetup consists of Maithili Wikipedians, Maithili linguists, Journalists and additionally JCI Janakpur; We have connected with various JCI Janakpur members to increase participation on Maithili Wikipedia and how we can further engage, improve and develop it.
