Questions from WMF edit

Hi Great11, thank you for submitting this new rapid grant request. We have a few questions for you:

  • Could you please update the grant start and end dates to include a day? For our records we must have a full date: day, month, and year.
  • Please note that we consider t-shirts a high-cost item and request that grantees limit them to either a select group of volunteers or give them out as prizes to specific winners. Would it be possible for you to reduce the number of t-shirts you plan to give from 20 to 5?
  • Also, please note that per our Guildelines and Criteria we do not allow cash prizes. I see that you plan to give prizes to contest winners. Will you be able to give those as gift cards, vouchers, gift certificates, items, or other forms besides cash?

Please let us know if you have any questions, and also note that we have emailed you about outstanding reports from other grants, which we will need to receive before we can make a decision about this application. Best regards, LSmith (WMF) (talk) 01:39, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I send a message to (User talk:Bachounda), he can answer all the questions about the project, he told me he answered you.

Hi, LSmith (WMF) Thank you for the review, my apologies for the delay, I had already read the questions and I thought I had answered...

  • start and end date updated ...
  • we planned to print 20 t-shirts for the top 10 winners, jurors and teams; 5 t-shirts are insufficient, we can reduce by half, to distribute to 3 winners, 4 juries and the team of the organizers. we will offer other cheap gifts in the future.
  • We will offer online ecommerce voucher for the winners

Approval edit

Hello Mohammed Bachounda, thank you for updating the dates and responding to our questions. The approval date can't be after the start date of the project so I have changed it to today. When you submit your grant information you can put your effective date to be January 1st so you can cover all your expense. Hope that makes sense. Please send us an email at <rapidgrants@wikimedia.org> if you have any questions. I am approving your grant request. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 02:01, 26 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, LSmith (WMF), This year, the WLA continental organizing team has launched an extension of the 15-day contest to 45 days instead of 30, which has the effect of defer the whole contest program wikiloves africa.

Currently, we are at the 2nd step and we have started to choose the team of the jury members.

We kindly ask you to accept an extension by early June 2019 to be able to select the winners and distribute the winnings to the winners.
