editHello Oby Ezeilo, thanks for submitting this grant request. After reviewing it, I have some questions and comments that I’d like you to address:
- What is the connection between this and State Governors/Administrators in Nigeria proposals? There are lots of similarities in the language, scope, and activities of these two grant requests, so I’d like to understand why you organize two distinct projects.
- The projected number of participants is 35 and the number of Wikidata items to be created or improved is 90. This means that each participant will edit/create only 2.5 items throughout an event. Don’t you think that this is a low number? What is the average time you think participants will spend on a single Wikidata item?
- The budgeted internet cost per participant is 20 USD for a single event. What is the average Internet cost in Nigeria for a monthly subscription?
- Could you please provide more details about what the “Miscellaneous” covers?
- What kind of Wikimedia merchandise are you planning to award participants?
I’ll look forward to your response! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:51, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
Hello DSaroyan, Here are my anwsers to the questions raised aboved.
- Their is no connection between my project and State Governors/Administrators in Nigeria. In Nigeria State Governors/Adiministrators are chief Excutive of a state. Under the military rule they are called Adiministrators and they are appointed by the military head of state while under the civilian government Governors are elected by the state. In my own case Vice Chancellors and their deputies are Chief Executives of Universities.
- I was just trying to be cusious , if you check my track record i always exceed my target, please note that the 35 participants will not come at once , its 7 persons or more per event, however i will adjust the number of improved articles.
- Internet data in nigeria is not paid for monthly you pay as per the quantity of how many gigs or megabites you want to purchase and this must expire within a month or a week depending on the plan, for instaance depending on internet service provider the data plan could range from #500($1.3), #5000($13),#10,000($26) to #20,000($52) etc, I provided $20 so they can buy enough data not minding the ISP the person is using.
- It will cover any unexpected exspenses or unexpected increase in cost
- For the merchandise its Branded wikimedia bags.
