Follow-up questions edit

Hello @Kunokuno, thank you for submitting a grant application.

  1. Would you be able to provide a draft schedule of activities for the full duration of your grant application? This will enable us to have an overview of the type and frequency of programmes/ activities you hope to implement.
  2. If you have completed a similar activity/programme before, could you also share and summarise what you are doing differently in this iteration? Are there new ideas or innovation you are testing/ trying out?
  3. What are the key learnings that you hope to take away from this project grant? And how do you plan to share them?

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.

Answers edit

Hi JChen (WMF),

Thank you for initially reviewing my grant proposal. I'll try my best to answer the questions.

1. Timetable - The proposed start date is March 15, 2022 and we were able to have a soft start last March 11. I do not intend to adjust it into a later date since it will be ending on June 15, by which I would still have ample time to do the activities listed.

Art and Feminism Campaign in the Philippines 2022
Activities Schedule Details
Edit-a-thon Weekends of April and May 2022 I was able to invite regular editors who would join the activity on a scheduled basis. Usually we allot four hours for the actual editing and 2 hours for community sharing. By June 2022, the weekends will be allotted for the proofreading and doing minor revisions of the articles created. We were able to start the edit-a-thon on March 11, just in time for the start of the International campaign.
Visible Women on Wiki Art Exhibit This would probably moved to last week of April 2022 and would run by the end of May 2022 I was able to initially invite three art groups to participate and artworks are already submitted via email. One week before the actual exhibit, artworks will be transported to storage area. Since this will be a one month exhibit on a physical place, volunteers are scheduled different shifts to accommodate visitors on the area. Most probably, the artworks will also be available on Wikimedia Commons as part of the Visible Women on Wiki campaign. Here is our call for artists poster.
Conversations on Women Empowerment and Feminism This will be conducted on May 1-31, as soon as we secure that the Art Exhibit is already running. The remaining days until June 2022 will be for video editing before it is uploaded into Wikimedia Commons. During the International Women's Day we were able to conduct interviews to women in different sector and fields and made it into social media posters. Some of it are already translated into English. By May 2022, we intend to create a video interview so we can capture the actual conversation. We would try to incorporate it with English subtitles to cater audience even outside the Philippines

2. Innovations - Clearly this will result to a more organized and structured event since this is the third time the Philippines will be doing this campaign. I was also able to gather volunteers that would be helping me all throughout the duration of the project. As for my role as Network Organizer of Art+Feminism, the A+F community will be closely monitoring my work and offered to provide any form of support on their end. One thing I am working on is to be able to connect the Filipino volunteers to the International Community of A+F community through online meeting and at least be able to provide a meet and greet session for all of us.

3. Key Learnings and Sharing them to the community - Though I was able to run this program for two consecutive years, this will be the first time by which I will be formally taking a leadership role since I need to handle new volunteers who would help me execute this project. What I'm expecting is developing our collaborations, connecting to new communities of artists and feminists, and create a more systematic approach which will be our guide for next time we get to involve in this campaign. One project I have as a Network Organizer for the Art and Feminism User group is to create a newsletter where I will be able to document the A+F campaign from 2020 to present. This file will also be uploaded on Wikimedia commons and definitely would be part of my grant report once I was able to successfully run this one.

Also, here is our event page for this year's campaign where it includes mechanics on how to join the campaign, gallery, documentation of interviews, list of articles to be edited, and the over-all background of the campaign. The community is also invited to join us in collecting their answers and viewpoints on feminism and women empowerment via this talk page.

We are also on this month's Education Newsletter, and I hope to gather a wider audience through this news advertising to the community.

Regards,
Kunokuno (talk)
