This is a very sound initiative. Songs has healing properties and soothing effect. Documenting and sharing them will help tell our story, heal the troubled and bring peace --Oby Ezeilo (talk) 06:43, 2 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is a good activity that will ensure sustainability of local songs and music. It will give visibility to indigenous songs. I stringly support it. --Ngostary2k (talk) 05:54, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not funded

Hello Onyinyeonuoha, thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After reviewing your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • AfricanWiki Choral User Group is not a recognized Wikimedia affiliate. However, on your grant application you are presenting yourself as a recognized affiliate. We request that the group designation is updated and corrected on all relevant Meta-Wiki pages, Fluxx Grantee Portal, and other public-facing pages or materials. Even if the group title mentions that you are a "proposed" or "planned" affiliate you cannot use Wikimedia logos or marks to reference your own organization/group, you cannot refer to yourself as a "User Group" or "Wikimedia [country name]" if this hasn't been explicitly approved by the Affiliation Committee.
  • The project plan and impact is not clear. The connection between the project idea and Wikimedia projects is not present. It is unclear how the project will impact Wikimedia projects and how the content will be developed, created, collected, and presented.
