Hi Vojtěch Dostál. Thanks for this very thorough and interesting grant report! We appreciate the time and effort put into detailing all the activities, recording metrics, and reflecting on lessons learned through the first half of this grant. We have a few comments/questions below:

  1. We’re happy to hear that you were able to quickly utilize the tent for outreach events. It’s unfortunate that the internet connection was so poor at the United Islands of Prague event. Were you able to collect any information like emails from the 50 people that stopped by the tent so you can follow-up if they showed interest in learning more?
No, we're currently not planning to collect e-mails, personally I find it a little too obtrusive but I'll discuss that with colleagues. We usually collect logins though on events like that (when we have Internet connection working and people logging in).--Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  2. Do you have an event page for the Prague Museum Night that tracks participants who wrote articles? What follow-up has been done with the 100 visitors? Similarly, what follow-up has been done with the 200 visitors you reached out to at the Silesian Museum Night? It’s great that you’ve been able to maintain and develop such good relationships with both of these institutions. Are there opportunities for smaller, more hands-on activities with them in the future?
Similar to above. As for smaller events and workshops, we have plans for these next year. --Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  3. The Wikipedians in Kadan event sounds really interesting. We’re excited to see how this model develops in terms of the students being able to write articles about their city.
Several articles have already been written, more in the final report! :)--Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  4. It sounds like the WikiTown project is continuing to show success in terms of content creation and improvement. Thanks for providing the detailed numbers. It’s great that 11% of the photos are already in use! Did you have an editing event during the weekend or did people do integration and article writing after they went home?
Pictures were added both during the event and after it at homes - people seem to understand that pictures make little sense on Wikimedia Commons alone, and like adding them to the articles. --Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  5. Congratulations on signing a Memorandum of Cooperation with the National Heritage Museum. How does the chapter hope to capitalize on this now formalized relationship, growing activities beyond what has been done with the museum in the past?
We are collaborating with them on the smooth transformation of Natural heritage site code links (we link to these from Wikipedia articles) and on obtaining geocoordinates. Also we have plans for workshops, as I replied above.--Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  6. Thank you for the updates on the Students Write Wikipedia and senior citizen education programs. Both sound like they are going very well. Do you have an idea about why there was such a dramatic increase in content creation between the Fall and Summer sessions? In terms of the training for librarians, what are the next steps?
It is not such a dramatic increase after all (+10%) and may just be a result of several courses being larger in terms of student numbers than before. But it is true that our teacher community is slowly growing. We want to capitalize on this community very soon when we create a position of an Education manager who will be able to work with the teachers to maintain the growth.--Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Some librarians expressed interest in running the senior citizen courses in their home libraries and the next step is to organize them. The whole thing with seniors seems to be spinning "out of control" with every library wanting to have courses for their visitors; we need to make sure that the growth is sustainable - again, the education manager should help --Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  7. Regarding your question about the definition of a Wikipedian, officially we define an “active editor” as someone who makes at least 5 edits/month.
  8. Please make any requests to the budget on the discussion page of the original grant and we can approve there.
Thanks, I am currently reviewing that. --Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 10:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks again for this detailed report. We look forward to your comments. Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 05:14, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Vojtěch Dostál, your replies to our comments are helpful for understanding program outcomes included in the report. You might consider inviting people at outreach events to share their email addresses if they are interested in learning about upcoming events and activities. Thank you for the effort you and your colleagues have put into this grant and the programs. We look forward to reading the final report! --KHarold (WMF) (talk) 21:12, 28 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Collecting e-mails at some events will be easier (indoor workshops in a friendly atmosphere, etc) than others (outdoor festivals where people are generally suspicious to someone collecting e-mails). In places where we collect usernames, we can also use massmessage system to write to individual userpages and ask there for the feedback. --Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 15:18, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
