Proposed participation edit
I've been an Wikimedian since the beginning of 2012, and for the last two years I am a Board member of Wikimedia Serbia. More active as a Wikimedian than as a Wikipedian, my focuses in the local movement were on organizational and media projects.
After the Wikimedia Diversity conference held in Berlin last year, I was highly motivated to start a project in Serbia which would focus on the local Wikipedia gender gap. That's how I started a project FemWiki with the goal to increase on the one hand, the number of women editors on sr.wiki, and on the other, the content about feminist and gender terminology and women's biographies. For the last few months, I am collaborating with feminist organizations from across the country with the goal to inform them that Wikipedia is a relevant battle field for increasing the visibility of women in the society. Next year, I am also planning to educate high school girls to edit Wikipedia with the accent on women's topics.
Having said all of this, I am very motivated and excited to participate at the Ada Camp event which is not just dealing with women and technology, but women in open technology, which I think is a very important topic for sharing the knowledge about.
Goal and expected impact edit
As Ada Camp is one of just a few events in the world that deals with women's participation in open technology and culture, I think this is a unique opportunity to share my experiences and knowledge with other women, and also to gather their knowledge and to use it after for improving my goal in the local Wikimedia movement.
Also, as Ada Camp is an unconference, where attendees decide what sessions to hold on the day of the event, I am planning to suggest to the participants a talk about the gender gap on Wikipedia and about the efforts (global and local) of resolving that issue. Just like in the FemWiki project in Serbia, I would like to make participants aware of importance of Wikipedia as a free encyclopedia. I would love to share with them my presentation on this topic.
My main goal is to share skills and to learn from other women. I will make use of that knowledge for FemWiki, and also for talks at some Wikimedia conferences in the future, like Diversity conference etc.

- I have known Sanja Pavlović for almost as long as I've worked for the Foundation. I met her last fall at the Diversity Conference in Berlin and was immediately impressed with her commitment to diversity and her dedication to our movement. I have spent time with her twice since and, the more I get to know her, the more inspiring I find her. In addition to being a board member of Wikimedia Serbia and one of the founding members of the Serbian FemWiki project, Sanja also works with Hackerspace in Belgrade, attended Feminist School in Bor, participated in an internet advocacy program in Budapest, and she is completing her master's degree in Gender Studies. Sanja's commitment to diversity and diversity in technology and diversity in open technology is evident in all she does. And her excitement about these causes is contagious! Whether it's wanting to translate Steven Walling's & Maryanna Pinchuk's "Creative Ways to Alienate Women Online: A How-to Guide for Wikipedians" or localizing Jake Orlowitz's Wikipedia Adventure for Serbian Wikipedia, Sanja's always got it in her mind to do something awesome for the movement. - As a Wikimedia Serbia board member, I have known Sanja for more than two and a half years now. I met her shortly after she had joined Wikimedia Serbia and from the start she was very active, interested in projects and later on in the workings of the chapter itself. About a year after joining the chapter, she joined the chapter board, where she has been constantly and consistently active. I have had numerous opportunities to work with Sanja on several projects, but more importantly, on somewhat less "visible", but nonetheless very important things, such as writing grant proposals, writing activity reports, conducting job interviews etc. I found her dedication to the movement very inspiring, and even more-so because she wasn't a Wikipedian-turned-Wikimedian. The conference Sanja wants to take a part in would no doubt be very beneficial to her personally, but also to Wikimedia Serbia, as we are trying to broaden our scope and diversify our projects. We are very excited to read a report from Ada Camp that Sanja would write, provided she gets funded to go. Sanja has participated quite passionately in the local Fem Wiki project, and I believe her experiences in Ada Camp would provide invaluable contribution to that project and our organization in general. Additionally, there are no organizations in Serbia that deal with technology and gender in particular, so this is a rare opportunity for her to learn about that topic, as well as exchange ideas and experiences with people from likeminded organizations worldwide. - I met Sanja while at the Diversity Conference in Berlin in 2013. Since then, we have kept in touch with each other. I am very impressed by Sanja's enthusiasm in creating and executing projects for increasing the diversity of participation on Wikipedia. Having participated in two Ada Camps in the past, I can be sure that Ada Camp experience will help Sanja in her ongoing and upcoming projects with Wikimedia. I am endorsing Sanja's TPS request.
