Grants talk:TPS/Sanja Pavlovic/AdaCampBerlin

Thank you for your submission, Sanja_pavlovic. After careful consideration, your request for funding is out of scope for this program. Scholarships for this Wikimedia-funded event have already been made available via other means, so we cannot also fund them via the Travel and Participation Support Program. Please see Grants:TPS/Learn#Attending_a_Wikimedia_event for more information.

We encourage you apply for AdaCamp scholarships directly through the Ada Initiative for future AdaCamp events. For this event, you might also consider requesting funding through your local chapter, Wikimedia Serbia.

We hope that this decision, although disappointing, does not discourage you from submitting requests in future. We appreciate your continued contribution to Wikimedia projects.

Thank you for the answer. I am sorry to hear these news. I was accepted to the Ada Camp Portland, but my application for the travel funds was not excepted, so I didn't have the chance to go. They told me that I can transfer that acceptens to Ada Camp Berlin, which I did, but wasn't sure that I am eligible for the scholarship.
In the meantime, I had some talks with fellows from the Wikimedia world and I found out that some of them were granted for the Ada Camp events through this grant. That's how I decided to apply here. I was not aware that this event is Wikimedia-funded.
Finally, if you have any suggestions where I can aplly for some instant grant, I would really appreciate it. Unfortunatelly, WMRS does not have the budget for this event, and I think it would be of great importance, for everything I've already said, to be there.
Again, thank you, and hope to hear from you soon.

Dear Sanja pavlovic, I am sorry to hear that that WMRS will not be able to help you with funding. We were able to fund eligible Travel and Participation Support applications to previous AdaCamp events because those AdaCamp events did not receive funding from Wikimedia. So, it is indeed unfortunate that we are unable to fund your participation at AdaCamp Berlin. We are sympathetic and hope that you would be able to attend AdaCamp in the future. -- Sincerely, Jtud (WMF) (talk) 00:20, 19 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
