Timeline for Wikimedia UG Nigeria

Milestone 1 ( Kick of Meeting) Kick of Meeting with the Partner to discuss the planning of the project. All the key persons were on ground.	Day Month Year 31st of July 2017
Milestone 2 The project was put on hold because the client were busy on some other project. We hope to start fresh meeting and resumption of the project in November, 2017. We have requested for extension of the project.	Day Month Year 17th August, 2017
Milestone 3 Meeting held with our partner. The project declared opened with content submission throughout the month of November 2017.	Day Month Year 22nd November 2017

July

Members of our community met with the partner to discuss the planning of the project. We highlighted key area of needs from our team and what our community needed from the partner.

• It was agreed that the partner will provide a working space for the WIR.
• Designate a member of staff for guiding our WIR for the naming and description of contents to be provided by the client.
• We agreed on days for Wikipedia training .
• We agreed to visit the partner's office at least 2 days in a Week.

August

The client informed our community of the need to suspend the project for two months because they need to travel for summer trip for shooting of their programs. The project was agreed to resume in the month of November 2017.

The following tasks took place in this period:

We continue with training of Staff of GogeAfrica

Our uploaded contents were removed from commons by the admins for lack of proper permission

We contacted our partner to send permission letter to OTRS team for the recovery of the contetns

Rationale

It's been difficult persuading the partner's staff to upload despite training them. This is because of their very tight schedule. Though, they show interest in contribution to the project. We believe an extension to the project can do the magic. We have restructure our plan, visit and process of mentorship.

Also, during this process most of our contributions to commons for the project were nominated for deletion and subsequently deleted for copyright. We have therefore, through the partner sent a letter of permission to OTRS for the recovery of the contents. Our request was granted by OTRS team but in their words... the recovery will take months because of backlogs. Olaniyan Olushola (talk) 05:51, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

Rationale

The uploading by the partner is not going has planned because the partner is currently short staff. Therefore, the orgranization is unable to spare a staff for the project.
