Project Plan edit

Activities edit

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. What is your promotion plan?
You can produce an animation video to promote a Wikimedia project and promote it by using ads on Twitter. You can promote an online campaign, such as Wiki Loves Monuments, by producing an interview video and promoting it on Facebook, Twitter, etc., using ads.

We will be producing two short documentaries to promote Maithili and Nepali Wikipedia. We have planned to select community "faces" from the both communities and produce two promotional videos. The promotional videos will cover how the both Wikipedia communities are building an encyclopedia in a local language, how to join the community, whom to contact for help, etc. After producing the videos, We plan to promote the video using ads on Facebook and Instagram. We hope this experiment helps in increment of readership and contributors.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3.Do you have any experience in online promotion or video production?
Were you involved in a similar project in the past? Do you have any other experience in producing videos or multimedia files?

Yes, we have some experience in online promotion and video production. We had organized Wiki For COVID-19. Under the project, we have co-created four videos: File:Wiki For COVID-19, What happens with Alan.webm, File:Wiki For COVID-19, Tips on COVID-19.webm, File:Wiki For COVID-19, Do you feel locked inside your home and want to travel.webm and File:Wiki For COVID-19, experience challenge.webm.

4. Do you or others in your team have the skills needed to manage the video production and promotional campaign?
Do you already have a team and specific roles assigned to people based on tasks such as scriptwriting, direction, cinematography, etc.?

Yes, we have a team WACN/Members. Everyone has a specified role. They will be managing the whole project. Moreover, we will be collaborating with local production house available in our area. Also, scriptwriting and production will be handled by myself Tulsi Bhagat, Production assistant: Sandeep Raut, Video editing and Cinematography by Rupesh Lekhak.

5. What’s your post promotion plan?
What do you plan to do after your campaign ends?

We plan to follow up with non-wikipedians project viewers who may want to learn how to contribute to Wikipedia after watching the video by giving them a google forms link to fill so that we can connect with ease. We will organize a series of workshops on how to contribute to Wikipedia to engage them.

6. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

No, we are not running any in-person events or activities.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

We have selected community "faces" from both communities. They are as follows:
Maithili Wikipedia
Nepali Wikipedia
