Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

I am organising an edit-a-thon.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
Nigerian Library Association , Oyo State Chapter, You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will communicate with the participants through the social media channels like Facebook, Linkedin, Telegram and Whatsapp channels

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

To some extent, there are not sufficient equipment available for the training. Hence, some gadgets and tools will be outsourced/ rented for the training to support the active participation of the newly recruited editors.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

There will be a follow-up through the event Dashboard and communications to the participants through the emails and social media platforms.

The event will be hybrid with 90% virtual events for the training sessions but, the opening ceremony will be conducted both for virtual and physical event and observing a strict compliance of Covid 19 protocols.

  • I support this project because it will train more African Librarians/Library students to run with Wikimedia foundation’s vision, which is to collect, develop and provide free access to knowledge and information globally. Nellydieli (talk) 20:02, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
  • <nowiki>This is an especially good idea when you consider the target audience and that they are rarely reached out to. I do support it as it will help the audience become more involved with the Wikipedia project among other Foundation projects.AKibombo (talk) 08:54, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
