Hosting the #1Lib1Ref project in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria with the community of Wikibrarians in Libraries and Library Schools in Oyo State will increase Librarians and Library students participation in promoting open verifiable knowledge and join the global campaign to make Wikipedia more reliable. Through hosting the event we will be able to improve the content on Wikipedia by adding at least one reference to articles. In addition, the project will raise awareness of the Wikimedia Movement and recruit new editors.

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

One online training and two days physical trainings

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

We have informed [[1]], Nigeria Wikibrians [[2]], The Nigerian library Association Oyo State, National Associations of Library and Information Science Student Oyo State Chapter, the Heads of Department of Library and Archival Studies, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

We will also share this project on various social media handles such as Facebook, Whatsapp pages on Wikibrarians in Nigeria, NLISSA Executives in University of Ibadan, Nigeria Library Association Oyo State Chapter group, and Twitter to encourage participation of many library students and librarians in Oyo State.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, participants have personal computers and mobile phones.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

We will create a Wikibrarian Whatsapp group for follow-up group to further engage them. They will get a post-event questionnaire to answer what challenge or question they have. The group will also provide them with tips on using citation hunts tool, adding verifiable and reliable references to articles on Wikipedia.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This campaign will bring librarians in Ibadan together and closer to Wikipedia and it sister project.
