1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

There is an evident content gender gap in Wikimedia projects. The team aims to help bridge that gap by participating in this year's SheSaid campaign. The two local Wikiquote projects that we will be working on are Wikisambit and Wikikawikaan, both of which will be having their own sites soon. What we also wanted to have is a small community of editors that would maintain and develop those two wikiprojects once they are outside the Wikimedia incubator. This year's SheSaid Philippines will also be organized by new volunteers who have also organized the Wikimania 2022 Philippines and we foresee that in the upcoming years, they will also be community organizers and engage in international campaigns such as the SheSaid. The previous year's SheSaid Philippines campaign was able to have an excellent result in article creation considering that we also placed second place for the International campaign. We wanted to review the previous articles as there might still be improvements needed into it like adding references, adding images, and proofreading for spelling and grammatical errors.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

This initiative is related to the Wiki Loves Women project. Wiki Loves Women contributes toward the UN’s SDG 5 Gender Equity: achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls. Within the 2030 Wikimedia Strategy, the Wiki Loves Women project works toward resolving several recommendations, in particular Invest in Skills and Leadership Development. One of the recurring initiatives of Wiki Loves Women is the #SheSaid drive. As a group, we wanted to take part in this mission and inculcate in our members the need for equal gender representation, especially in Wikimedia projects. We aim that through contributing quotations of notable women, we will increase their visibility. Locally, what we wanted to do is to create a collection of quotations from prominent women in history, politics, literature, and other areas which will also directly benefit the Filipino history and languages, but also those people who endeavor to study them. Also, this grant request is meant to support participation in the #SheSaid drive in my local community.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

The sessions will include training, edit-a-thons, and campaign promotion. We are expecting to invite 35 newbie volunteers at most and they are to learn the basics of editing, what are the Wikimedia projects, the significance of Wikiquote, gender issues in Wikimedia projects, and how they can participate in the SheSaid campaign through editing on Wikiquote. Edit-a-thons will be done on two priority projects, the Wikisambit (Central Bikol Wikiquote) and the Wikikawikaan (Tagalog Wikiquote), and we also aim to add quotations of notable Filipina on English Wikiquote. The campaign promotion will be in the form of art posters that portray women's empowerment and will be posted on our social media pages all throughout the duration of the campaign. To sustain the momentum and engagement of the participants, the edit-a-thons will also be in a form of a writing contest wherein the winning editors are expected to receive prizes from the organizers.

4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.

6. Please state if your proposal aims to work to bridge any of the identified CONTENT knowledge gaps (Knowledge Inequity)? Select up to THREE that most apply to your work.

Content Gender gap

6.1 In a few sentences, explain how your work is specifically addressing this content gap (or Knowledge inequity) to ensure a greater representation of knowledge.

The two local Wikiprojects we'll be working on are resources that are understandable by Central Bikol and Tagalog speakers. This wikiprojects will be of use to these local speakers considering that there are only limited local wikiprojects we have at this time.

7. Please state if your proposal includes any of these areas or THEMATIC focus. Select up to THREE that most apply to your work and explain the rationale for identifying these themes.

8. Will your work focus on involving participants from any underrepresented communities?

Gender Identity, Linguistic / Language, Age

9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities?

Mostly of the organizers are from youth group and we expect that the newbie participants will range from 18-23 years old and mostly will be college students. We are targeting at least 35 editors who will partake in this campaign. A similar strategy will be implemented based on the previous campaigns on how to maintain the interests of the editors such as constant follow-ups, requiring of only small edit tasks, and reward system. Every after the event, an evaluation will be done to assess which parts of the event will need improvement especially on aspects of access to technology, familiarization with the Wikiquote project, or the pacing of training. Participants will also be invited to attend community hours of SheSaid, so they'll be able to meet other volunteers from other parts of the wiki world.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

In every event we conduct, we see to it include the Friendly Space Policy during the orientation discussion. As a Network Organizer of Art+Feminism, I also adapt the Safe, Brave Space Policy the UG implement in their events.

11. Please tell us about how you have let your Wikimedia communities know about the planned activities and this proposal.
