1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

This project seeks to address two major problems on two of the Wikimedia projects:

1. Wikidata: currently, very much few lexemes/lexicographical data relating to Fulfulde language can be found on Wikidata. The first part of this project therefore will be vested on an attempt to create new types of data including words, phrases and sentences with their descriptions in Fulfulde Language just as they exist in many other languages on Wikidata. These lexicographical data when provided can also be reused on other Wikimedia projects and can also provide support for the development of Wiktionary.
2. Commons: For the second part, the project also seeks to create audio recordings of some common Fulfulde language words to be uploaded on Wikimedia Commons. In the past, certain number of Wikimedia languages have carried out similar initiatives and Fulfulde language community will join them to leverage Wikimedia as a language preservation platform to document major spoken words in the language. Hence, at this angle I consider this project an experiment to make the Fulfulde language become more visible on the internet.

In both ways, the impact of this project includes; providing support when creating the Fulfulde language Wiktionary. The words created can be added to Wikipedia articles and can also be added to describe items on Wikidata. Also application developers can reuse the content in building their tools, etc

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

The organizer and facilitators of this project will spend time in:

1. Preparing a list of words
2. Verifying their validity and spellings
3. Recording the words
4. Uploading the words to Wikimedia Commons using appropriate labels
3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

There will be 3 activities/edit-a-thons categorised as follows:

1. Introducing the participants to Wikidata and train them on how to create lexicographical data
2. Introducing the participants to Wikimedia Commons and train them on how to record the words and upload them to Commons
3. Workshop training on the Fulfulde Language writing rules
4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.
