Meet Serbia edit

The editing challenge „Meet Serbia“ finished last month, and there were a total of 1206 new articles created by 23 Wiki Club members. These are the best 6 editors:

An awards ceremony was held on the 23rd of March at the Serbian Embassy in Skopje. Her Excellency, Ambassador Nevena Jovanovic, presented gifts and recognitions for the six best-performing participants. We were honored to be guests in the Embassy and concluded the formal ceremony with an informal gathering at the Ambassadors’ offices. Members of Glam Macedonia discussed the future plans and projects.

Seminar for teachers edit

On the 11th of March, we held a seminar for teachers in Vevcani (Ohrid region). 21 teachers successfully attended the seminar in "Strashno Pindzur" primary school and received certificates. The main theme of the seminar was "Media literacy and Wikipedia". The keynote speakers on media literacy and culture and Wiki club Ohird were Tatjana Gogoska, Master of Communication Sciences, and Natasha Nedanoska. The keynote speaker on Wikipedia was Snezana Shtrkovska, president of GLAM Macedonia.

Celebrate Woman edit

On the 14th March 2022, there was an edit-a-thon with the theme "Celebrate Woman". The activity was part of the global Celebrate Women call which takes place during March. The edit-a-thon had 41 participants which made a total of 239 new articles.

The activities were held in-person in three cities: Skopje, Veles and Ohrid, plus many editors get involved from their homes, online. In Skopje, coordinator Ana Vishinova organized workshop for Wiki Club members in National gallery. Eight young students were introduced to the art in which the main subject is the woman. The curators from the National Gallery led the students through the rooms where the works of art were exhibited. At the end, the participants created articles about Macedonian women artists.

In Veles, there was gathering of Wiki Club members and seniors, and together they created articles about women artists.

In Ohrid, in the same time, Wiki Club Ohrid members were actively involved in creating articles about women artists as well.

Wiki Clubs edit

This month we have meeting with new Wiki Clubs members in the Primary school Josip Broz Tito - Skopje in order to train newcomers on how to edit Wikipedia. 11 new members were trained.

GLAM activities edit

In Ohrid there was workshop organized by Wikipedian in residence, in the National Park Galichica. The workshop took place on March 31. The participants were introduced with the lecture on the topic: "Amphibians and reptiles in Galichica National Park". The lecture was led by Edi Frtsovski and Aleksandar Minev from IDSB, and the host of the event was Angela Taseska from UNPG. The lecture was attended by students, members of the Wiki Club Ohrid, under the mentorship of the coordinator Natasa Nedanoska. After this lecture, enriched with materials and information from the field of herpetology, participants enriched Macedonian Wikipedia with articles for the individual species.
