Discussion edit

(Continuing conversation from my talk). Hi @Ciell:, we've got the banner created (thanks to User:Seddon). I looked into how the Board Elections targeting was done, looks like it was just set to logged in voters (I think!). We could run this the same if the scripting is too difficult. Patrick Earley (WMF) (talk) 17:48, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think this had a script though, let me ping @DerHexer: who did this previous campaign. Ciell (talk) 18:43, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
According to the banner source code, it was displayed to all logged-in users. There is no script part and therefore no targeting only on eligible voters, as far as I can see. And I'm not aware of functions which could fully implement the eligibility criteria. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 20:58, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the swift reply Martin!
@PEarley (WMF) will some of from the WMF be setting up the campaign (and is this request only meant as an FYI), or does one of the volunteer CN admins need to do this for you? Ciell (talk) 11:28, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@DerHexer:, thank you for checking. We can just use the logged-in setting, this is fine. @Ciell:, I'd love help from the cn admins to get this running; I don't have the skills myself, and Seddon, who I'd normally ask, is enjoying some time away from the computer into next week. Patrick Earley (WMF) (talk) 19:20, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Great, I'll work on this after today's Hubs meeting. Ciell (talk) 13:13, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PEarley (WMF) The campaign is ready for you: you want it to start this Wednesday March 16th, is that still correct? Ciell (talk) 16:34, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ciell:, that is correct! Thanks for the help, and for working with me on scheduling. Patrick Earley (WMF) (talk) 19:56, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Can we please remove the incorrect comma? @DerHexer? ~~~~

Yes, did so, lol. Hopefully, I didn't mark all translations as invalid. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 09:42, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Central Notice admin comments edit

FYI I changed the campaign to run for logged in users only, per off-wiki discussion with User:PEarley (WMF). Appears to be enabled unintentionally. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 16:05, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Martin, I did not notice this box had been checked, and merely focused on the links working while setting up the campaign. I'll try better next time! Ciell (talk) 16:32, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
