Mahatma Gandhi 2021 edit-a-thon

Mahatma Gandhi 2021 edit-a-thon was the second iteration of Mahatma Gandhi edit-a-thon conducted by CIS-A2K. It was also a two-day-long edit-a-thon. For the participation, 43 users signed up and 32 editors contributed. Participants from 12 languages or communities were involved. A few editors submit their articles on the event page. Wikimedia session with Mahatma Gandhi Public Library, Sangli

As part of the GLAM partnerships, CIS-A2K has collaborated with Mahatma Gandhi Public library in Sangli city. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, 2 October, CIS-A2K representative organised a session on free knowledge & Wikimedia projects for the trustees, staff and members of the library. Wiki session in Climate Change Adaptation Conference

The Energy and Resources Institute co-hosted the Adaptation Futures 2020 with the World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP) in Delhi from 4 - 8 October 2021. It was the sixth in the Adaptation Futures international conference series on global adaptation and the first to be held in Asia. In the Wikimedia session, CIS-A2K presented the Wiki initiatives like Jalbodh, Biodiversity project with the environmental groups to document the realities on Wikimedia projects. The experiences of knowledge creation with grass-root activists and alert citizen forums were shared. This Wiki session was jointly conducted with Alex (WMF) and Emma (CDKN).

Partnership meetings in Goa

CIS-A2K took initiative for partnership with institutes or libraries in Goa under the GLAM program. Three meetings, from 11 to 13 October, were held at Goa with three different institutes. On 11 October met with the trustee of Bharatkar Hegde Desai Trust, on 12 October visited Goa Central Library and on 13 October Executive Council member on the Comprehensive Wiki program with Goa University. Online workshop for documentation of biodiversity & culture in Gadchiroli district

CIS-A2K conducted an online workshop for documentation of biodiversity & culture in the Gadchiroli district was conducted on 28 October 2021. During this Wikimedia session, a total of 12 members from the Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra participated. The session was for Wikimedia Commons where they discussed the scope, design of the categories and training plan. The tribal group of youths in the Gadchiroli district is involved in a community forest management programme under the guidance of ecologist Prof. Madhav Gadgil. Re-licensing sessions with authors

CIS-A2K is working for Relicensing program for the 3 to 4 few years. The authors and copyright holders need to know to understand the process and Wikimedia platforms then they approach A2K. In October, five such online sessions were conducted.
