Santali Wikimedian Community Call - For Annual Conference 2024' edit

The community is continuously trying an attempt to hold a Regional Conference comprising our contributors of India, Bangladesh and Nepal since 2019. In 2019 grant was not approved, in 2020 it was not possible due to Covid. Last year also we had started some discussion on Rapid Grant but as the budget surpassed we postponed the event to this year with conference Grant. In the last one year you all have incredibly contributed to the Santali Wikipedia. For which we feel it is appropriate time to begin the discussion once again. As intimated earlier find below the date and time and link of the event.

  2. The venue for the event confirmed as the Kolkata
  3. Different Committee to be formed for smooth functions of the Conference which may be as followed:

  1. In order apply the grant and get an overall idea about the Locations , suitable hotels prices etc, Bodi Baski and Suku Murmu will have a visit to Kolkata and discuss with the Kolkata Based Wikimedians.
  2. The event will be limited to the 25-30 participants which will includes the both trainee and and resource person.
  3. The scholarships will be available for the cost travel to the venue, accommodation and Food.
  4. The scholarship committee will be consist of three most experience Santali Wikimedian from India, Bangladesh and Nepal with one female member.
  5. The scholarship committee will ensure and encourage female participant to the event with the objective of gender equity.
  6. The scholarship committee will also ensure minimum two new promising and dedicated volunteer to the event.
  7. The community will follow Universal Code of Conduct for friendly space policy.
  8. As this community is an Indigenious community of South Aisa Sub continent and 9 th august is World Indigenous Day, prior to the event from 2nd August to 9th August 2024 the community will organize a Regional Edit-a-thon in collaboration with Indic Wikimedia Community and Affiliates.
  9. CIS-A2K will be one of the partner of the event.

4 Travel Expenses 415000 This includes AIR fare of 3 individual from Bangladesh 1 individual from nepal, 1 from Bangalore 1from Ahmedabad, 2 From Vishakhapatnam 1 from New Delhi 1 from Assam 1from Chennai and Rest 20 by train and bus. Local conveyance of all participants.
5 T-Shirt 18000 Event Santali Wikipedia T-Shirt for 30 Persons @Rs600/- whih will include printing cost and cost of T-Shirt
6 Editathon 10000 Top three contributors from each participating communities in this Editathon will be awarded with Certificate and T-Shirts.

Selection Criteria edit

  • The jury of the Scholarship committee will consider the over all contribution to the Santali Wikipedia and sister project of Wikimedia by a native Santali contributor.
  • The best contributors will given the opportunity to participate in the event.
