Wikimedia LGBT+/Interlanguage coordination project
The Interlanguage Coordination Project, initiated by Wikimedia LGBT+, aims to bridge the content gaps across different language editions of Wikipedia related to LGBT+ topics. Despite the significant growth of LGBT+ content, there remains a disparity in naming, representation and depth between language communities. This project seeks to foster collaboration, share resources, and create a more equitable coverage of LGBT+ themes across all Wikimedia platforms. By empowering editors worldwide, we can ensure that the diversity of the LGBT+ experience is represented in a equally way globally, contributing to the broader goals of justice and inclusivity within the Wikimedia movement.

Main goals
editAccording to a poll developed in the Telegram group “LGBT meetup follow up” on August 20, from different alternatives that emerged after the discussion at the Wikimania 2024 meetup, the options that were suggested and to which we will give first priority is:
- Creation of the coordinated list of queer articles and topics that all languages should have (64%)
- Discussion about how to set up a support/help network for queer editors for all wikis (18%)
- A session about how the Spanish queer community grew and what could be implemented in other languages (9%)
- Discussion about how to aim for a unified style guide/rules for queer content on wikis (9%)
