The newly formed organization is the face of the Wikimedia Foundation's affiliation "Wikimedia Community of Saint Petersburg User Group", recognized by the Affiliation Committee (AffCom). Reda Kerbush, a well-known Wikimedia volunteer, was elected us the Chairman of the RNGO "Wikimedia St. Petersburg". According to information from the organization's website, the purpose of its activities is to support wikimedia projects: attracting volunteers, developing free software, defending the human right to access knowledge and education at all levels.
