Cosa?
Wiki Loves Sport è una campagna ideata e organizzata da WikiDonne User Group a partire dal 2019, come parte della WikiDonne Roadmap selezionato come uno dei 27 progetti degli individui o affiliati finanziati dalla WMF nel 2018.
La sesta edizione di Wiki Loves Sport è organizzata per migliorare ed aumentare i contenuti relativi alla diversità nello sport nei progetti Wikimedia in generale, e durante gli eventi che copre come periodo, in particolare. Date le lacune che si presentano nell'ambito del nostro argomento di interesse, la campagna si concentra principalmente sui contenuti riguardanti i gruppi mancanti o sottorappresentati, ma come Wikimediani, apprezziamo qualsiasi contenuto relativo allo sport che desideri aggiungere. I Wikimediani di qualsiasi lingua dei progetti Wikimedia sono invitati a partecipare.
Rules
- To participate, you must be a registered user on one of the Wikimedia platforms;
- To be considered valid, the articles created must contain at least 3,000 bytes and be created or improved between July 17 and September 22, 2024;
- If you are writing on Wikipedia or Wikiquote, all the articles should meet the content criteria for those projects: notability, reliable sources, respect for copyright.
Seeing the affiliate's goal of increasing the diversity, whoever writes +5 articles about female athletes or female & male para-athletes, will receive a barnstar and a digital certificate from the main organizer.

- FIBA U20 EuroBasket from 13 to 21 July.
- EuroGames Vienna from 17 to 20 July.
- Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup from 19 to 28 July.
- Paris 2024 Summer Olympic games from 26 July to 11 August.
- US Open from 26 August to 8 September.
- Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic games from 28 August to 8 September.
- FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup from 31 August to 22 September.
When?
The writing contest runs from 17 July 00:01 to 22 September 23:59 (UTC).
Where?
The edit-a-thon will be essentially held online. Other activities (mainly the local ones or on other Wikimedia project like Wikibooks) can be carried out in person.
Who?
Wikimedians already registered who edit in any Wikimedia project language.

Why?
Wikimedia and Wikipedia have deep content gaps based on gender, linguistic and ethnic minorities etc. The contest was ideated in 2019 and it is organized by WikiDonne User Group: our goal is to improve the free knowledge about sport (with a special focus on women, LGBT+ communities, para athletics, minorities and underrepresented groups), in all languages. The external partner for this edition is Assist - Associazione Nazionale Atlete, a non-profit organization that "has among its objectives raising awareness on all issues relating to equal rights in sport, equal access to sporting practice and sporting culture in general. Assist is committed to combating harassment and abuse in the world of sport through awareness and communication projects"[1].
