Superprotect status edit

Dear Wesha, since you are an administrator on a wiki from which no user participated in this discussion, I'd like to make sure you are aware of some recent events which may alter what the Wikimedia Foundation lets you do on your wiki: Superprotect.

stock footage edit

you should consider uploading to Internet Archive. https://archive.org/ they rarely delete things there. cheers. Slowking4 (talk) 00:38, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

OTRS edit

we advise never to go there. rather we suggest uploading ro flickr, https://www.flickr.com/, with an appropriate CC license or CC-0. then transfer to commons at your leisure. cheers. Slowking4 (talk) 21:21, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Slowking4: lI am afraid that since I am not the author, but acting at the behest of the descendant of the author/copyright owner (who has just emailed me the scans that particular film literally minutes ago), my claim that he has released the said roll under free license will not be accepted by Wikicommons deletionists. -- Wesha (talk) 21:54, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
yes, it is unclear that any email or license indicator would placate them. however, by using flickr as a holding pen, other people on the web can find them, and you could upload to english and other wikis as PD. Slowking4 (talk) 21:45, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
