Invitation for Functionary consultation 2021Edit

Greetings SWMT member,

I'm letting you know in advance about a meeting I'd like to invite you to regarding the Universal Code of Conduct and the community's ownership of its future enforcement. I'm still in the process of putting together the details, but I wanted to share the date with you: 10 July, 2021. I do not have a time on this date yet, but I will let you soon. We have created a meta page with basic information. Please take a look at the meta page and sign up your name under the appropriate section.

Thank you for your time.--BAnand (WMF) 03:21, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

@BAnand (WMF): No worries mate. Will check it out. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | w:User:SHB2000) 07:39, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Pardon me?Edit

I'm not trying to fool anyone. I'm asking, no begging for help. That i not a crime. Maybe if I wasn't treated like a disease I would not have to resort to messaging people via here. Please be decent. I'm asking for HELP. Not someone's home address or bank details. Please don't behave like a bully. 12:17, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

You're globally blocked under the IP which means that you're not allowed to edit any WMF project until 23/9/21. If you need help, ask a steward, not a Global Sysop. Global sysop's can't do anything. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | w:User:SHB2000) 12:20, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
Also pinging @Martin Urbanec: (the only steward I know) and @Leaderboard: (trusted well known user). Please help me with this user, I've got little experience on meta. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | w:User:SHB2000) 12:22, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
Pinging @علاء who made the block, and probably can help more here. Martin Urbanec (talk) 12:24, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks Martin. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | w:User:SHB2000) 12:25, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
Well thanks to علاء for making things more difficult for me. Alas, I'll message the stewards wish me luck. 12:27, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
Well, instead of throwing aspersions, you should probably reflect on why got you this global block. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | w:User:SHB2000) 12:29, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
This block made per this request --Alaa :)..! 03:21, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

I don't want to derail the conversation, so will respond here instead. The definition of active may be arguable, but there is precedent of IP and new users (which can also count as "active") having their votes counted. Hence I personally believe that Billinghurst was wrong, though \shrug. Leaderboard (talk) 08:06, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Just like you, I believe that all good users (i.e. no banned users or locked users) should be voting. But I think Billinghurst is probably tired of that user constantly hat collecting. (asking rollback rights after 44 edits while I myself have 1038 edits and don't have it myself) SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | w:User:SHB2000) 08:14, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
That does not mean that he has the option to do what he wants, does he? Leaderboard (talk) 08:49, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Not at all. After all, even the stewards and admins are just regular users here but just with special tools. (also, the fact that you weren't given abuse filter helper because of "lack of communication" makes no sense to me and seemed to me that the user was picking on you) SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | w:User:SHB2000) 08:51, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Did you mean abuse filter maintainer (AFM)? My abuse filter helper request passed on first go. I don't believe Billinghurst actually opposed my AFM proposal; it was Rschen7754 that derailed my application, which created a punishing cascading effect. Whether Rschen7754 was "picking on" me is another question entirely. Leaderboard (talk) 21:10, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Oh yes, my bad. I'll answer that other question by email. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | w:User:SHB2000) 01:07, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
