editWhat problem were you trying to fix in this edit? dcljr (talk) 05:16, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- Because of this. When I come this page it didn't work well. And I returned last edit. Optima D (talk) 05:20, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- That is an intermittant problem (sometimes happens, sometimes doesn't) that, as far as I know, has nothing to do with whether the table code is transcluded from the subpage or appears on the page itself. In any case, the table in question is being discussed at Talk:List of Wikipedias#Dealing with transcluding subpages and will probably be implemented in an entirely different way soon. - dcljr (talk) 05:55, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- Got you. At future, I will discuss with community about pages like this. Thanks! Optima D (talk) 05:58, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Dcljr: Hey! Is it possible to update every 24 hours this page ?. Optima D (talk) 06:58, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- The software apparently updates the page whenever it feels like it. To force an update to the latest numbers (the latest possible, anyway), use the "purging the cache" link just above the table. I don't think there's a way to get that done automatically. The only way to get more up-to-date info (beyond querying every wiki yourself) is to check the raw data at commons:Data:Wikipedia statistics/data.tab. That page's edit history will show the four times each day that it is updated. - dcljr (talk) 20:23, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- Note that a null edit will also update the numbers, but it's not as quick and easy to do as following the purge link I referred to. - dcljr (talk) 20:51, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Dcljr: I couldn't find link about the table, but I cached by this link. Optima D (talk) 04:51, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes. This link does the same thing. It can be found on the words "purging the cache" at the end of the italicized, indented paragraph of text beginning "These statistics are updated four times a day", immediately above the table. - dcljr (talk) 07:53, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Dcljr: Found! Many thanks. Optima D (talk) 08:02, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- When the table is updated ? Optima D (talk) Optima D (talk) 08:03, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Automatically? Like I said, whenever MediaWiki feels like it. It's unpredictable. That's the downside to using templates like we're doing now. (See here for the update schedule of the source of the numbers.) Even the table that's currently using the Module approach we're thinking of switching to is usually not showing the latest numbers when I go look at it (there are some other problems, too). Looks like having a bot periodically post plain text to the page is the only way to have fine control over how up-to-date the numbers are. I have not yet tried finding a bot owener who is willing to take over that job from the now-defunct EmausBot. - dcljr (talk) 10:34, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- Understood, thanks! Optima D (talk) 10:38, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
