Www.wikipedia.org template
editMark, please copy and paste the contents of Www.wikipedia.org template/temp into Www.wikipedia.org template when updating that page. When moving Icelandic up a notch, you forgot to bump up Kapampangan and update the article counts for the top 10 wikis. Regular users regularly take care of this at the temp page, but we need the sysops to copy and paste the contents, or else the portal only gets updated piecemeal, which becomes a real mess. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 06:39, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

My wiki ideas
editI have a few ideas for some wiki's but I do not know how to propose them. My first idea is wikireligion, this project would have articles on anything related to religion, another idea I have is wikisports, this would have articles on things related to sports, my final idea is wikipedia censored, this is a censored version of wikipedia. Can you please tell me how my ideas are, question me about them, and help me propose them. Have a nice week.--Sir James Paul 01:25, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Problem with elections
editHi Mark,
Could you please relate to the topic I started on Talk:Board elections/2008? The vast majority of (eligible) voters on hewiki who're trying to vote are not being allowed to vote. There has to be quite a serious problem with your list of eligible voters, at least on that project (though I guess it must be relevant to other projects too). Harel 12:40, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Can't vote
editYup, same as above. My contribution in id passed 600 God knows when. I got this in my email:
The above translation was provided by volunteers. The official English text follows:
Dear Serenity,
You are eligible to vote in the 2008 elections for the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation, which operates projects such as Wikipedia. The Board of Trustees is the decision-making body that is ultimately responsible for the long term sustainability of the Foundation, so we value wide input into its selection.
For more information, please see <http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Board_elections/2008/en>. To remove yourself from future notification, please add your user name at <http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_nomail_list>.
Yours sincerely, 2008 board election committee
And when I log in, I got this:
- Wikimedia Board of Trustees election
- From Wikimedia Board Election
- Jump to: navigation, search
- Welcome Serenity.id@metawiki!
- You are not qualified to vote in this election. You need to have made at least 600 contributions :before 00:00, 1 March 2008, and have made at least 50 contributions between 00:00, 1 January 2008 :and 00:00, 29 May 2008.
Great. Serenity.id 10:13, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Problem solved when I log out. 125.161.144.103 10:21, 6 June 2008 (UTC) (log out mode on)
It is fixed my friend, so no worries mate! Serenity.id
Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Mark Ryan. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Mark Ryan~metawiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
