Salut Korrigan, j'ai remarqué que tu as mis quelques images ici.

Wikizine edit

Sorry, I did not notice your comment on the talk page of Wikizine. I only make the English version. I know that there is an translation made by some readers. There is one in dutch,w:nl:Wikipedia:Wikizine, but it is stuck at number 3. And in zh:Wikipedia:维基简讯 , also stuck at number 3. If you like to make a french translation, please do. --Walter 00:10, 26 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

--193.250.66.25 18:06, 11 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Whatredirectshere edit

Salut Korrigan. Merci beaucoup pour votre traduction! :)

I've put the translation online, and it's now available via http://tools.wikimedia.de/~tangotango/whatredirectshere.php?lang=fr or by using the language selector box in the top right hand corner of the tool. I've linked to your user page on meta at the bottom of the page; if you want another link, or another name, please tell me.

The translation actually comes in two parts; some of the translatable strings are located in another file, the "General" language file, that is used across all my tools. Until this is also translated, some parts of Whatredirectshere (most notably the "Welcome" message and database errors) will be reported in English. If possible, could you please translate this file too?

$lang['gen_error'] = 'Error';
$lang['gen_db-connect-error'] = 'Could not connect to database server (Zedler may be down); Error was: ';
$lang['gen_db-select-error'] = 'Could not select database (The database you selected may be non-existent); Error was: ';
$lang['gen_welcome'] = 'Welcome';
$lang['gen_invalid_dbname'] = 'Patently invalid database name';

$lang['gen_nonexistent_wiki'] = 'The project you selected is either non-existent or is not replicated to the toolserver.';
$lang['gen_query_failed'] = 'The SQL query failed with the following error: ';
$lang['gen_query_failed_badrowcount'] = 'The SQL query did not return the correct number of rows.';

(Zedler is the name of the database server where the wiki data is stored)

Once again, thank you very much - I appreciate your translation a lot! Cheers, Tangotango 14:50, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much!! I'm sorry about the accents, I saved the file with the wrong encoding by mistake and all the non-ANSI characters got lost in the process. I've re-uploaded the file and the "General" file you translated, and they both appear to be working fine. Please tell me if there's anything else that's amiss.
About integrating Whatredirectshere into Whatlinkshere, the folks at the Vietnamese Wikipedia have done something similar with vi:MediaWiki:Pagemovedtext. The following worked on my local test wiki:
  1. Create fr:MediaWiki:Whatredirectshere-link with: [http://tools.wikimedia.de/~tangotango/whatredirectshere.php?title={{urlencode:$1}}?lang=fr&subdom=fr&domain=.wikipedia.org Your link text here]
  2. Add the following to fr:MediaWiki:Linkshere: ; vous pouvez aussi ne voir {{int:Whatredirectshere-link}}
Hope this helps! Cheers, Tangotango 03:52, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mayflower translation edit

Hey Korrigan, thank you very much for translating the Mayflower interface into French! I've put your translated strings file up online, and it should be available here. I am a bit concerned that "les plus récents en premier" and "les plus pertinents en premier" are a bit too long to fit on both the first page (index.php) and the main search results page (search.php)--would it be possible to shorten these strings so they fit?

  • The language selector box - yes, it will appear on the first page when I redesign the interface (hopefully very soon). I would also very much like to see the language selector box in the top right corner (it would also be consistent with all my other tools), and will be working on changing the interface so this is possible.
  • I don't think the "too many users" error will actually ever appear (it was a buggy SQL query that caused it to appear in the first place), but I will link to Duesentrieb's MediaSearch tool instead.
  • Items that can't yet be translated:
    • Yep, file types do need to be translatable... I don't know why I missed that out! Will fix and send you a message when the translation file is available. :-)
    • Oh yeah! I forgot about the tooltips too. These will also become translatable.
    • The footer... yeah, I guess it should be translatable, although I do want a degree of freedom to change it sometimes :-)

Thanks a lot for your translation, and for your great suggestions! Cheers, Tangotango 17:07, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for shortening the strings! I've uploaded the new translation, and it looks okay to me :-) I've also made the "Rechercher" button wider in all languages, and in my tests with Camino and Safari, it looks okay--please tell me if it looks weird in another browser. I'll let you know when the other strings are available for translation. Thanks!! - Tangotango 15:41, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for updating the translation :-) The new version is now on the toolserver. Cheers, Tangotango 14:27, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
