Talk Page for Hobs' contributions to wikimedia
Unblock request declined
This blocked user has had their unblock request reviewed by one or more administrators, who has/have reviewed and declined this request. Request reason: I use an open source, socially responsible VPN to browse the web (Mozilla VPN). I'm a lifelong contributor to Wikipedia, but my contributions will be dramatically reduced if I'm required to change my security configuration every time inspiration (or a new bit of information) comes to me while reading Wikipedia. I'm sure many other high-quality, high-volume contributors are also affected, so this policy is significantly reducing the quality and timeliness of Wikipedia content. Is there any reason why my logging in is not enough to identify me? Why would you want to block logged in users using a VPN? Can I upgrade my authentication with TFA to alleviate any security concerns? What about a captcha? Decline reason: Hi Hobsonlane, sorry to see you've been caught in a VPN block - proxies are liable to blocked for any period at any time, and as such I am unable to "grant" this unblock request. However, please see this page for more information on how to request local/global exemption from these sorts of blocks. Hope this helps 🙂 -- TNT (talk • she/they) 01:56, 14 December 2021 (UTC) বাংলা | English | español | français | magyar | italiano | 한국어 | Plattdüütsch | Nederlands | українська | 中文 | edit |
