Semi-protection
editI'll leave this message on Wikipedia as well, but I wanted to make sure you got this. At Wikipedia:Semi-protection policy, a couple users and myself are attempting to gather consensus about a possible change in editing. So as not to keep the community out of the loop, we've been posting to user talk pages, which seems to have worked. If you can add your thoughts to the talk page, it would be greatly appreciated. We've gone over a few issues, ranging from perception of anti-wiki to time limits, and recycling pagemove code, so you might want to check out #Rehashing to get up to speed. Thanks in advance, Mysekurity 04:17, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Dialekty, języki i cały ten bajzel
Dodaj się także do listy Stewards#List of stewards and the languages they speak. Jeśli będziesz potrzebować jakiejkolwiek pomocy z interfejsem dla stewardów (Special:Makesysop), skontaktuj się ze mną. Datrio 21:46, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

De-adminship because of violation of "administration ethics"
editHow do you think, if an administrator violates so-called "administration ethics", but does not violate any Wikipedia rule, may administration privileges be dropped? --Jaroslavleff 16:12, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Stewards-l
editHi, this is user:Walter here. There is now finally a mailing list especially for the stewards. These way the stewards will have an easy way to contact all the other stewards. I do not expect this to be a high traffic list because we are few in numbers.
Because we are so few I like to mange the subscription manually. Please email my (walter AT wikizine DOT org) your name and username and if you use more then one email address also the other email addresses who need to get posting rights. If not else specified the email address used to contact me will be used to send the emails to.
PS: you "email this user function does not work. Not on meta, pl.wiki, en.wiki, commons or pl.wikinews
Greetings, Walter Vermeir
FYI steward-status
edit- [Stewards] - a new steward election will be held soon. The most likely date for the election to start is 25th of November. This date can still change. Like it is now all existing stewards will need to reapply if they wish to remain steward. The rules of this procedure are still under discussion. All existing stewards and interested users for the function of steward can best apply as soon as possible.

statement
editHi candidate, I am user:Walter. If you are interested I offer you the opportunity to write a statement to present yourself to the community. This will I send in a special edition of Wikizine to my readers. You can write what you want, it is your presentation. Plain text, no in-text hyperlinks. Some can be placed at the end of the text. I can be flexible about the number of words but try to not go over 350 words.
Note: your the email function on Meta does not work
Greetings, Walter for Wikizine.org
Your statement for the board elections
editI find this sentence self-contradictory:
Frankly, I haven't been less active in the Wikimedia projects in the last few months, but I'm looking forward to resuming my activities.
Questions for the Wikipedia Signpost
editHi! My name is Ral315, and I'm the editor-in-chief of the Wikipedia Signpost, a weekly newspaper on the English Wikipedia. I'm sending out an optional questionnaire that I hope you'll respond to. These questions will be published in next week's issue, and hopefully translated into many languages and copied to the Meta-Wiki prior to the election. (So, if you speak multiple languages, it'd be fantastic, though certainly not required, if you'd be willing to translate your answers into any languages you speak fluently.)
There's no word limit on any of these questions, but I suggest that brevity (maybe about 300-400 words per answer) is best. If at all possible, answers should be submitted by 16:00 UTC on Monday, June 25 (though late responses will also be accepted).
I'm posting these to your talk pages because they don't really fit well on question pages (since many will repeat questions you've already answered). You can reply to me by e-mail, or at my English Wikipedia, English Wikinews or Meta talk pages.
Thanks again for answering these, and good luck in the elections.
Sincerely, Ral315
- Do you have any other usernames or pseudonyms?
- What current or former user rights or positions do you have, and on which projects? (i.e. administrator, bureaucrat, arbitrator, developer, steward, board member, etc.)
- Outside of Wikipedia, what do you do for a living?
- What languages do you speak?
- Why do you want to join the Board? What qualities do you feel you can bring to the Board?
- About how much time do you think you'll put into the role?
- Ideally, where do you see the Wikimedia Foundation in 5 years?
- As a board member, how will you ensure a balance between openness and necessary privacy in board matters?
- Recent discussion has centered around the Wikipedia and Wikimedia brands. How do you feel the Wikimedia brands should be used, or changed?
- Wikimedia projects in developing nations are growing in popularity, but still lag far behind the more popular projects. What steps would you suggest to improve the quality, readership, and number of editors on smaller wikis?
- What do you feel should be done to increase participation on non-Wikipedia projects?
- As a board member, what strategies would you consider to raise money for the Foundation?
- What else do you want to say to voters? (This is a good place to answer a question specific to your candidacy that you think should be answered)
Striking your vote
editHello Ausir,
Thank you for your interest in the Wikimedia Board Election. The Election Committee regretfully informs you that your previous vote was received in error and will be struck according to the election rules, described below.
The Election Committee regretfully announces today that we will have to remove approximately 220 votes submitted. These votes were cast by people not entitled to vote. The election rules state that users must have at least 400 edits by June 1 to be eligible to vote.
The voter lists we sent to Software in the Public Interest (our third party election partner) initially were wrong, and one of your account was eventually included to our initial list. There was a bug in the edit counting program and the sent list contained every account with 201 or more edits, instead of 400 or more edits. So large numbers of people were qualified according to the software who shouldn't be. The bug has been fixed and an amended list was sent to SPI already.
Our first (and wrong) list contains 80,458 accounts as qualified. The proper number of qualified voters in the SPI list is now 52,750. As of the morning of July 4 (UTC), there are 2,773 unique voters and 220 people, including you, have voted who are not qualified based upon this identified error.
In accordance with voting regulations the Election Committee will strike those approximately 220 votes due to lack of voting eligibility. The list of struck votes is available at https://wikimedia.spi-inc.org/index.php/List_of_struck_votes.
We are aware of the possibility that some of the people affected may have other accounts with more than 400 edits, and hence may still be eligible to vote. We encourage you to consider voting again from another account, if you have one. If you have no other account eligible to vote, we hope you reach the criteria in the next Election, and expect to see your participation to the future Elections.
Your comments, questions or messages to the Committee would be appreciated, you can make them at m:Talk:Board elections/2007/en. Other language versions are available at m:Translation requests/Eleccom mail, 07-05.
Again, we would like to deeply apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,

2007 Steward Confirmations
editHi. This is a semi automated notice so my apologies if it seems a bit impersonal. You're listed as holding the Steward permission. As you know, Stewards get reconfirmed yearly, and it's that time again... I noticed that you haven't yet filled out your statement at Stewards/confirm. If you'd like to learn what the community thinks, please visit the page and put in your statement. Volunteers have been busily translating statements already. It would be best to do this before November 26, as that is when the page is opened for public comment, to coincide with the elections of new stewards. If you would like to not be reconfirmed and have your name removed, you can remove your section, or ask a volunteer to do it for you. I hope this information helps. If you have any questions or comments, there is ongoing discussion at Talk:Stewards/elections_2007. Oh, one last thing, if you already knew about it and just hadn't gotten round to it, apologies for the reminder! :) ++Lar: t/c 04:41, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Steward confirmation
editHi Ausir,
I have removed your steward status as a result of the annual steward confirmations. You did not make it, the mentioned reason was inactivity. Thank you for all your work in the past, and I hope to see you around sometime soon again. Effeietsanders 12:53, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- According to this, we discussed about removing your Checkuser access on Meta, too (since it was given due to steward duties). Please tell us your opinion on this on RfA. Thanks, --Thogo (talk) 18:50, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
