Note about RfD

Don't forget to tag pages you put up for deletion with {{RFD}}. It'd suck if someone actually was still referring to either of those pages and found it suddenly gone without any notice. :)

Also, I noticed the "Messages will be responded to more swiftly" note at the top of this page. If you go into your Preferences, there's a checkbox for getting an email notification when your talk page is edited. Language box placement

Hello Anonymous Dissident. I see you moved the language box on Stewards below the note about the upcoming election. I think the language box should always be the first element on a page to improve accessibility for non-English readers. The reader should ideally be able to select his preferred language first, then read the translated notice.

Do you object to moving the language box back to the top? If necessary, the line about the upcoming elections can be emphasized a little more (such as with a border or bold text). —{admin} Pathoschild 15:49:31, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Mechanical translation of notice

It was very wrong to create MediaWiki:Centralnotice-thanks/el with a mechanical translation. It would be better to leave it in english that to put a notice like that. Hi Anonymous Dissident, I wrote my complaint in RFC but probably nobody will solve this problem. Azeri wikipedia is speedly going down. User Uannis who was departed from turkish wikipedia is destroying all the article which I created last year. Admin AMD doesnt want to listen to me, he supports Uannis'e activity. Please read my request in RFC and help me. They all dont allow me to work and admin blocks me in every first word. It is impossible. Admin AMD feels himself like a Faraon. Azeri wikipedia really needs admin from wikimedia to watch all of this illegality. User Uannis sends the media files for deletion with blame of non-licensed. But you can watch all the pics which were tagged by me. I hope that you will help me in this case because I dont know where to request about it. Please tell this situation to all of other admins and sysops. Users Sortilegus, Ira, Bahar, Baki66, Memty can affirm my thoughts. You can ask to them.

Related note! I notice that on the category page, you added instructions on how to sort in-category in addition to the instructions I already had on-page. I'm curious, do you prefer to manually specify the sort-key (|A) over letting {{PAGENAME}} do it? I'd have thought that telling people "Put the following on the bottom of your matrix, exactly as shown: [[Category:Wikimedian matrices|{{PAGENAME}}]]" would be easier for newbies, since it wouldn't require quite as much understanding of such esoteric things as category sort options... or am I totally missing the point? ~Kylu (u|t) 04:39, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Project portals

Hi, I'm not sure why you protected this page. It is useful as it lists the different portal pages, but it's not as important as the portal pages themselves, which must be protected since they contain raw HTML and they're in live use. Since this page has been edited by non-administrators and hasn't been vandalized recently, I do not think the protection is necessary. Best regards, Korg 17:27, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Please don't change election rules and information

Hello Anonymous Dissident. Please don't change the official elections rules and information. Every change triggers a large number of coordinated translation updates, and the change you introduced would require additional translation updates to remove it when the elections open next week. This is why the page is fully protected with a message asking administrators not to edit it.

I am very sorry for my action. I forgot to consider the translative difficulties that would arise as a result of the new material. That's a good point; I was hoping that the red box at the top of every page would prevent confusion:

The translation period for candidate statements is currently underway.

There's always someone. It's good to have a general warning, but then a more assertive and severe one at the relevant section.
