York University Libraries in Toronto, Canada, will be hosting three Wikipedia edit-a-thons on the theme of Indigenous scholars and researchers as part of #1Lib1Ref. Events will take place on January 18th from 12 -1 1:30 pm, January 22nd from 10:30 am to 12 pm and January 29th from 10:30 am to 12 pm in the computers labs on the fifth floor of Scott Library. The University of Groningen Library is hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon on Tuesday, 30 January, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. All library staff of the University of Groningen are cordially invited to join us for this "#1lib1ref lunch"!

Activeer je netwerk

We zijn op altijd op zoek naar partnerorganisaties. Partnerorganisaties kunnen de actie ondersteunen door:

• Blog over de actie, email je contacten en schrijf erover op sociale media.
• Neem contact op met andere bibliothecarissen in je netwerk en vraag ze om deel nemen aan de actie.
• Organiseer een webinar of andere educatieve activiteit tijdens de week.

Als je interesse hebt, neem dan contact op met Felix Nartey (fnarteywikimediaorg) of het TWL-team (wikipedialibrarywikimediaorg). Zij kunnen je helpen bij het opzetten van een communicatiestrategie, bij het vinden van materiaal om met je netwerk te delen en bij het motiveren van vrijwilligers. Partnerorganisaties worden bovendien ook genoemd op de hoofdpagina van de actie en worden vermeld op onze sociale media tijdens de actie.

Het is belangrijk dat zoveel bibliothecarissen als mogelijk van deze actie op de hoogte zijn. Deel de actie daarom zoveel als mogelijk: tweet erover, link naar deze pagina en deel de actie op je sociale media.

Vervolgstappen

Bibliotheken en Wikipedia delen dezelfde missie: het voor iedereen vrij toegankelijk maken van alle kennis. Om die reden bestaan er al sinds lange tijd contacten tussen de Wikimedia-beweging en Nederlandse kennis- en erfgoedinstellingen. Bijzondere voorbeelden van samenwerkingen tussen bibliotheken en de Wikimedia-beweging zijn het Catalaanse netwerk van openbare bibliotheken, de State Library of New South Wales, de National Library of Israel, de National Archives of the United States, en vele andere.

Als je meer wilt weten over hoe bibliotheken aan de slag kunnen gaan met Wikipedia, lees dan deze pagina voor onderzoeksbibliotheken (in het Engels). Of kijk op de Nederlandstalige Wikipedia naar Wikipedia in de Openbare Bibliotheek: een project dat de mogelijkheden voor samenwerking tussen Wikimedia en de openbare bibliotheken onderzoekt.

Als je contact wilt opnemen met een Wikimedia-editor of de lokale gemeenschap, neem dan contact op met Wikimedia Nederland.

• Om een Wikimedia editor of gemeenschap in de buurt te vinden om u te helpen uw bieb uit te breiden, neem contact op met een lokaal lid van de Wikimedia beweging, de hierboven genoemde bibliotheekcontacten of een vrijwilliger die contact is voor culturele heritage organisaties in zijn/haar regio.
