It would be nice if some special parameters were added. Particulary the "preload" one. Try this after &action=edit:

Proposing an update to use the following syntax:

as in Template:Edit/sandbox so we make use of the now built-in Special:EditPage MediaWiki feature. I ran some tests in Template:Edit/testcases.
