Tracking down strings for translation

Something needs to be done to improve how we can track down strings for translation, and by improve I mean more like make it actually not impossible.

I already had to jump through several hoops to track down this template, then even with the template source code I couldn’t figure out where this “support votes” string comes from. Search is of absolutely no help. Al12si (talk) 03:54, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

It comes from {{Community Wishlist Survey/Num votes}}. But if you just want to get it translated, you don’t need to know this; simply translate the Community Wishlist Survey aggregate group, it’s part of it. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 10:05, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
