Piecemeal poll

edit

This is getting confusing, and I think a poll regarding the elements might help. I have unfairly placed my favorites in the #1 position ;) Extensive discussion of these options is above. --Peter Talk 21:34, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

From the poll, it appears that the most popular color scheme (probably to PrinceGloria's dismay) is clearly the original green theme. The suitcase was kind of a cool idea, but I think I'll stick to the basket for the actual submissions. There's nothing even resembling a consensus about the font, aside from the fact that the original submission's font is decidedly not popular. Accordingly, I've added three mods for consideration to the submission, all of them with the new, favored basket, and each of which uses one of the suggested fonts. So pick your fonts! --Peter Talk 06:13, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Is there a font which can be used for all possible scripts including Arabic, Chinese etc? If not, then there will have to be variations anyway. · · · Peter (Southwood) (talk): 10:21, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
We have years of tradition to use DejaVu Sans in maps — why not use it in the logo? According to the official website it supports Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Armenian, Georgian, Hebrew, Arabic and some lesser-used scripts. GMM (talk) 17:25, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
DejaVu Sans would simplify things, although I'm not sure if it's the best option. I added examples of its use above at #Translation. I'd be very curious to hear others' opinions. --Peter Talk 22:38, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
