Friday, Saturday or Sunday? North American and other global observances edit
Our Wikipedia 15/Events/New York City event is looking to take on an unconference format, and link by video regionally and globally with similar events sharing lightning talks from different cities. For our organizing model, see last year's Wikipedia Day @ Barnard College. The question remains though, should we do this Friday January 15, or that perhaps more conveniently that weekend, Saturday January 16 or Sunday January 17? - Wikimedia Poland is planning to hold a conference through the whole weekend. We are going to have a meeting with the media and some celebration (wiki-cake! :) ) on Friday. Then on Saturday and Sunday are going to organize lectures, workshops and lightning talks. Although I'm not sure if we can join you in any way because of the difference in time zones :) Magalia (talk) 11:31, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- I love the idea. As Magalia noted above, we're not yet ready with the program of our conference, but I believe we could pull it off on Friday or Saturday. Say, 23:00 CET is 17:00 in New York, so we could try to do some late-night video bridge. Halibutt (talk) 07:58, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
