Feedback on December 16, 2021 DEI report edit

Regarding the December 16, 2021 Knowledge Equity DEI report found here m:Communications/Research/Diversity, equity, and inclusion research/United States - 2021 - The report suggests to add comments and questions to this page, but I would suggest using the Discussion/Talk page of that report directly if possible, so as to keep the conversation and the data together. I've posted some comments there already at m:Talk:Communications/Research/Diversity, equity, and inclusion research/United States - 2021. Thanks. - Fuzheado (talk) 13:42, 17 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Response requested edit

At https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Wikipedia_Signpost/2023-08-31/In_the_media#Orlowski a member of the Wikimedia Foundation Communications Department made a statement and then failed to answer questions about the statement. Could somebody else in this depertment please respond? --Guy Macon Alternate Account (talk) 22:04, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Guy Macon Alternate Account: Please see a response here. LDickinson (WMF) (talk) 20:53, 28 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Could I ask for more formal attention on on this discussion

Why I think it's a timely & unique opportunity for the comms team edit

  1. It aligns with WMF comms mission for external comms Grow and protect the reputation of the Wikimedia Foundation, its projects, and the movement. and We build initiatives to help grow the reputation of the Foundation, movement and key initiatives and manage issues and crisis situations that may interfere with our mission..
  2. It would demonstrate to editors return on investment in comms.
  3. This is an opportunity to reverse/confront negative brand trend in USA preference for Wikipedia is relatively low in countries such as the United States and Germany where misplaced poor quality perceptions of Wikipedia still linger.

Even if the plan is no active external comms, editors would welcome more internal engagement and clarity on the strategy with this case. Tonymetz (talk) 19:39, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

As far as I can see, WMF posted two tweets to respond this incident 1 2. Also, I don't think WMF comms must do something to feed the troll. Thanks. SCP-2000 05:03, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
thanks for your engagement here this would be my first time on the Comms page. Could you tell me a bit more about your involvement? Tonymetz (talk) 21:53, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am not the WMF staff and it is just based on my observation, so I am afraid I can't answer your question:) SCP-2000 03:55, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
