Question from Wikimania COT Grant Team

edit

Hi Pharos! Thanks for submitting your application, it's exciting to see in-person events being planned in NYC. We do have a question – could you provide a more detailed breakdown of expenses for the $4000 that's supposed to be spent on Wikimania meetups and watch parties during the days of the event? How much of that will be used for renting a venue, for meals etc? Aced (talk) 19:38, 8 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, we anticipate $1000 for food and $3000 for facilities costs, including physical set-up of seating and booths, as well as supplementary staff time at the partner institution. We would be using donated space at a museum rent-free, as we have for numerous past events, but there would likely be costs with setting up the space and paying for the extra hours from museum staff. Request extension for t-shirts

edit

We have spent $1.8k of the grant, and would like to request an extension so that we can spend a further $1k on event t-shirts for Wikimedians who participated, with a design by User:CMadeo (WMF). Pharos (talk) 18:01, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Pharos: congratulations on your event and thank you for the request. On behalf of Wikimania COT Grants and Scholarships Team, I'm confirming that the reallocation request is approved, as is reporting deadline extension until November 14th. Let us know if you need more time than that. Thanks! Aced (talk) 14:54, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
My apologies, it looks like we will need more time. We're in touch with Carolyn to see when the final design will be ready. Pharos (talk) 23:23, 15 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
We would like to ask a further extension until January 31, as we had a delay with the design. Pharos (talk) 19:30, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
