The books in wikibooks teaching languages are great, and I believe that they are a great starting point. Although, I think that we can do better than that. From what I have seen, there are some problems with those wikibooks:
- There is no audio support (this is really important if you want to learn a language).
- The format is not standardized. Apparently, each page for each language is completely different from another, which yields it difficult to either edit by other people, or to learn a language in a straightforward manner.
- Others...
I believe that wikidioma (or whatever name) could be a very useful tool, and thus can not be regarded as just another book. I am yet quite short of ideas, but in my opinion, it is possible to build a structure that connects wikidioma to wikitranslate and wikitionary. This would allow wikidioma to grow faster and have more information than the books now available. I noticed that the wikibook to learn French comes with a printable versions. An idea very useful. An add on to these could be an audiobook version of the tutorial. I don't know... I'm just thinking. Please help me out here... FCLeste 13:57, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I think it would be a good project. I have already a great idea about a good structure, but that is for when this project exists. I think that a good structure is very important, also to have more editors. SPQRobin 16:10, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- I totally agree, I have myself also tried to think about a structure. But since I'm new to this, I don't really know which are the steps necessary to make this project come to life. Can you give me some clues about this? FCLeste 16:21, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
