Request to verify a ticket

Could someone please verify OTRS Ticket#2006082110002647? I noticed a user from the Italian Wikipedia uploaded several images at Commons [1] and want to know if truly he allowed to upload so many images. I am worried that either the copyright holder misunderstood the question, or that the Wikipedia editor uploaded some that were not bound to copyright solely by the artist (especially the album covers, like Image:Cover_hello.jpg, Image:Full albumart.deadwing.jpg, Image:Cover cloudy now.jpg and Image:Cover blackfield single.jpg, between others). He said that " it was ok to him". However, in the email as well fair use, GFDL, NC, ND, SA and BY were mentioned. It is *not* clear which licence is meant. A follow up would be best. Hallo. We would like to start the queues info-sk and permissions-sk for the Slovak Wikimedia projects. "OTRS is not a Badge"

Hey. Some of you might want to read Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Badlydrawnjeff/Workshop#Do_not_repeat_an_administrative_action_when_you_know_that_another_administrator_opposes_it., wherein someone on OTRS is proposing they be given special privileges to irrevocably delete articles, no questions asked or discussion prior to deletion allowed, and disagreeing admins to be desysopped. This particular OTRS volunteer seems to think he don't need no stinking consensus. I've tried to point out that where he thinks there's libellous material there, and he thinks it needs to be irrevocably deleted, he notifies the suitable person to get an Office Action taken. To en.wikipedia.org, OTRS volunteers are just regular editors, and don't get to make special actions. On English Wikipedia at least it's policy to delete libellous material wherever it is identified. This applies whether there is an OTRS request or not. It seems that at least Czech Wikipedia has the same policy, though I'm sure many of the other projects do too. --bainer (talk) 02:24, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

This doesn't equate to 'OTRS Volunteers get to override consensus, if it's disputed that it's not libel, then it needs to go through dispute resolution, or an office action taken by the foundation.

I've just noticed that some of the OTRS Volunteers have sneaked Wikipedia:OTRS this in, so they have something to point at and say 'OTRS Volunteers have special powers!'. None of them have sneacked in a policy, the point of the matter is, the OTRS member may know some that you do not (and cannot) know. Cbrown1023 talk 13:23, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

As an OTRS volunteer myself, I never use an OTRS ticket alone to justify any action— I'll use "removed unreferenced material" or the like as the edit summary or the reason for an administrator action. If someone questions me, I'll carefully explain why I did it (citing and explaining the ticket). It's not necessary to divulge any sensitive information to do so.

I've found that doing so properly makes it likely that the person will nod and agree, rather than (justifiably) raise drama on mailing lists and discussion pages about a cloak and dagger attitude among OTRS volunteers. Carefully explaining actions is also likely to gain friends who can in turn come to your defense when other users question you.

What we do as OTRS volunteers is necessary and definitely not shameful; the heaviest opposition to our work is because of the pointless secrecy and the occasional overreaction. The behaviour of some OTRS volunteers even annoys me at times. :) —{admin} Pathoschild 20:46:41, 07 July 2007 (UTC)

change e-mail address for automatic notifications

I'd like to change the e-mail address my OTRS notifications are currently sent to, but I couldn't find the relevant option in the "preferences" page. How can I do it (if possible)? Thank you. --Paginazero - Ø 09:00, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, you can't fix that yourself, but an OTRS admin can do that for you. - jredmond 19:37, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

subpages

Are subpages not to be capitalized, or are they? Does anyone know if there is reference in policy or guidelines here about this? I would be glad to fix them if they are supposed to be. Thanks. --Emesee 19:06, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
