Talk:Global bans/ratification
Non-Wikipedia projects
editIf this ratification approach is accepted, a bit more work is needed collecting the relevant statistics for non-Wikipedia projects. I've used Wikipedias only in the first draft because List of Wikimedia projects by size doesn't give Active Users, and I don't think we want to use just user account totals for the criteria. - Yes, ignoring non-Wikipedias is not an option. Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 21:05, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
Meta vote option
editOne point about the Meta vote option: the discussion is then almost exclusively in English (see eg Global_sysops/Vote). Using decentralised, parallel processes on local projects allows discussion in local languages. Rd232 (talk) 18:07, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- I think a vote could easily be multilingual. We'd just need to get the preamble and requests translated (which is easy to do here on Meta). Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 18:58, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- And every comment? Into how many languages? Rd232 (talk) 19:57, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- You don't need to translate every comment. What you need is explanations of what we're discussing and why translated. The point is facilitate a decision that actually gets input from non-English speakers, not necessarily to force a discussion between people who don't speak each other's language. - The point is facilitate a decision that actually gets input from non-English speakers - right: the point isn't to get genuine discussion involving non-English speakers (which requires a certain decentralisation by language community), it's to do just enough to allow us to pretend we're respecting their input, in a fundamentally English language context. Android Device
editMy device has a issue with the Windows software and iOS being cloned to it and that has caused many negative accusations on my work and meta accounts I do as much as I can to prove my innocence that I will not go against anything that will put my life in jeopardy or against the laws.
