Talk:Fundraising 2007/Buttons and banners to be translated

"Therefore the designs need to be in the public domain" - I don't get that. IMHO there is no need to put anything into the public domain. The authors just need to make clear that they don't claim any copyright for their part of the work (or assign those rights to the WMF). As I understood the banners and buttons shall be part of the fundraiser, so they will be official, hence there is no reason not to use the official WMF logos for that. The community logo is meant for unofficial stuff. -- Arne (akl) 09:46, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Translations

edit

I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this, but anyway.. is there any plan to put these (and other) translations into translation memories? In this way they may be reused for future fundraisng or may be useful for leveraging from previous translations, as well as for any other future inter-project communication. Sorry in advance if we're already using TMs and/or this was already discussed in the past (if so, please link). Ciao --kiado 20:51, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for bringing it up. I think here is a good place. Currently we have no use of translation memory widely, while Sabine is very interested in OmegaT. In our private conversation, she suggested to introduce a new way to organize the whole translation, so for now .. stay tuned :) --Aphaia 21:23, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
