scope of folklore

edit

I am not sure what is the scope of folklore regarding articles/competition. When the guideline says folk cuisine, folk wear, fairy tales does it mean an article about a fairy tale is eligible, or an article about a lady character from fairy tale is eligible? Or both? —usernamekiran (talk) 19:30, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Usernamekiran: The scope includes
Folklore – around the world, including, but not limited to folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, fairy tales, folk plays, folk arts, folk religion, mythology, etc.
Women in folklore – includes but is not limited to, women and queer personalities in folklore, folk culture (folk artists, folk dancers, folk singers, folk musicians, folk game athletes, women in mythology, women warriors in folklore, witches and witch hunting, fairy tales and more).
Thanks! :) Haoreima (talk) 03:55, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Usernamekiran to answer you in short. It's both. --Tiven2240 (talk) 08:24, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Fountain problem

edit

Hello, I edited an article ମଲିକା ପୁଖରାଜ (Malika Pukhraj) in Odia Language on 27/02/2022 and tried to enter into Fountain. Surprisingly it did not take although the required number of words are there. On 28/02/2022 I wrote another article named ତୀଜନ ବାଇ (Teejan Bai) which has been well taken. Please rectify t the problem.--Sitikantha Rout (talk) 04:18, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Sitikantha Rout is the problem still there? --Tiven2240 (talk) 16:45, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

International contest

edit

Hello Tiven2240, I would like to participate in the international contest but I am not sure how to do it. I have translated an article into Galician but I don't know how to indicate that it participates in the contest since there is no local contest on this wiki. Do I have to put a hashtag or indicate it on a tracking page or something similar? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english :) --Elisardojm (talk) 10:16, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Elisardojm would you like to organise it on your local Wikipedia project. We can help you with it. Please contact us on support(at)wikilovesfolklore.org. Thank you. --Tiven2240 (talk) 16:44, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi Tiven2240, thanks, but I only want to participate in the international contest, if it's possible. --Elisardojm (talk) 11:04, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Umm international contest are only on Enwiki, Gawiki and TTwiki. You are free to contribute to them. We would be happy if Galician language Wikipedia would also organise --Tiven2240 (talk) 04:29, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Two issues with judging

edit

A contested asked me to re-judge an article that they had improved. There are two issues...

1) Some of the articles were improved after March 31, when the contest was over. Do they count or may I only reevaluate entries improved before March 31?

2) How do I get Fountain to change a score once it's already been accepted? I don't see a way to do that.

Thanks! Darkfrog24 (talk) 11:34, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Darkfrog24 I don't know why it's happening like that. However, in the past editathons like "WikiLoves Women South Asia" & "Wikipedia Asian Month", where I participated, juries had no problems in accepting a rejected article, and that's also after the end of the contest duration. It seems like the contest timing is set only for the article submissions by article developers/writers and not for article judgement (accept/decline/re-accept) by juries. Hope it's just a malfunction in the fountain. :-) --Haoreima (talk) 11:44, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am fine with whatever we decide. I will add that this will not change the winners on Simple in any way. Darkfrog24 (talk) 12:29, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Darkfrog24 I saw that the fountain in Meitei version of this same editathon still works. I am also a jury there though I will not judge any articles there. --Haoreima (talk) 12:52, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Fountain does work. I just don't know how to change a judgement after it's been submitted. Darkfrog24 (talk) 13:07, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Ле Лой and Tiven2240: Please help Darkfrog24. --Haoreima (talk) 13:09, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi. @Darkfrog24 when on the judging screen on the top left of the page where you have the name of the article, you can find a drop-down where you can navigate to earlier judged articles. You can change the judgement from there.
Since the contest ended on 31st March Articles created or improved after deadline don't be a part of the edit-a-thon. Thanks --Tiven2240 (talk) 15:15, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for telling me how to update the scores. I will look at the articles that were improved on or before March 31. Darkfrog24 (talk) 17:26, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
