How to combat or what to do with paid pageview generators and pageview bots and pageview scripts with random intervals of stay time. This will affect the competetion very badly. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 16:41, 30 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Points are given for pageviews in June, so it is not possible to affect the pageviews anymore. John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 08:03, 1 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

What pageviews?

edit

Hi, I don't understand the scoring. I have created the new article Mada'in Saleh at gl.wiki, and I added one image. What article's pageviews should I find? Pageviews at en.wiki or gl.wiki? Pageviews 30 of june or at 31 of july? Bye, --Elisardojm (talk) 00:40, 1 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi! That was a big overlook on our part as we did not include new articles. I have now added points for a new article being created which is using at least one of the new images. I put the points to 10, as it is not possible to get points for the pageviews in this case. Does that sound reasonable in comparison with the rest of the scoring? Ah!, thanks John Andersson (WMSE)! :) --Elisardojm (talk) 23:37, 1 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Examples of Template:Depicted place

edit

After a lot of searching, I couldn't find an example that uses Template:Depicted place along with the Wikidata (Q) number. Jsamwrites (talk) 07:53, 1 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

I made use of template here in File:Amphitheatre of El Jem-130253.jpg changing the template to photograph. Jsamwrites (talk) 11:37, 1 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

confusion

edit

Hello John Andersson (WMSE), I have confusion with these lines Points will only be awarded for the first 5 images added to an article. Is it means that those articles which already contains five images are not countable or its the first five images added by the participants? Ferdous06:23, 3 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Five images added by the participants. We want to encourage a curated set of images being added to the articles. Best, John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 11:34, 3 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thank you John Andersson (WMSE). Its a good decision. Adding too much photos in an article is not good if its not contain enough information. Please add Edit option beside each participants name. It will help us to submit our contribution list easily. Ferdous13:14, 3 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. We will look into if we can solve it. We need to adjust the template somehow. If anyone knows a clever solution it would be much appreciated. Best, John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 15:11, 3 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hello John Andersson (WMSE), I am again. If any participants add 3 pictures on a articles, will it give 3x points. As for example if that's page has 2015 page views, will it give 3x20=60 points? Ferdous13:11, 7 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but a maximum of 5 images can be added to an article as part of the contest. In total. So if one participant add for example 3 images to an article, then you can only get points for 2 more added images. Best, John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 18:28, 7 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
